I loved sailing from that terminal in Tilbury. Felt so classic.

The good old Passenger ships. I never sailed on them as I was a cargo boat man myself, until the dreaded box boats took over and our once famous British Merchant fleet dwindled away😢😢 such a shame 43 years at sea only a few more trips to go and I’ll be hanging up my 👨‍🍳 whites.

@@NickPeters-ug7vk All depends on each persons particular lifestyle. That applies for today also.

When passenger ships looked like passenger ships and not containers with windows. So much for progress

Because they actually employed visionary interior designers and graphic artists whose job it was to make thing look good, and not based on profit per sq. ft.

Check out the tattoos on the helmsman at 1:59. I bet that old salt had some riotous tales of nights ashore and the fleshpots of the world's harbours.

Oh.... how wonderful! When the ONLY people with tattoos were sailors and, evidently, obesity had yet to be invented and black was a colour worn only to funerals or at night. Yes, time travel would be wonderful as long as you could take a small supply of antibiotics.
