Years ago Johannes stayed with me for a few weeks while he was in Dallas, TX giving master classes and concerts. He played this tremolo piece while sitting Indian style on my couch for a couple of my girlfriends. They immediately fell in love with him. This is the best version of Recuerdos de la Alhambra on the internet.
One of the most beautiful melodies ever written. This is an outstanding performance...the tremolo was perfect, and phrasing just right. It brought tears to my eyes.
i love how this piece goes from minor to major and back to minor in such a beautiful way. apart from the finger-picking, its really a simple piece of music. the best ones always are
In my opinion the finest interpretation on TH-cam at the moment. The tremelo is as near perfect as I believe possible, and the variety of volume and tone is wonderful. I keep coming back to it, and just close my eyes and listen. A very emotional experience.
I can see how much you love the song you are playing and how you love what you are doing...The passion I feel inside of you together with your great talent contribues to make this a wonderful performance. You did a wonderful job!
Saw him in concert at Carnegie Hall last month ...Johannes, you are awesome!! I am totally buying your cd .... beautiful, flawless, inspired, and original.
This, by far, musically, technically, the best I have heard on TH-cam. Thankyou for posting. Great performance. Great music..... love it... Bravo! Bravo!
I didn't know this guy until today... He's wonderful! He plays with such great technique and gives so much character to his music. I love it! ............... AxlGuitarMaster94, you're full of many things, but modesty is not one of them
fabulous magnificent performance. Very nicely interpreted. Such a class act! This man has a special rare talent. I absolutely love his changes of tone and dynamics. Utterly beautiful.
The absolute best rendition of this piece to be found anywhere in the world - far surpassing any master, to date. Despite production/recording values being a bit rough, the cadence Moller has discovered, the emotion evoked, and his deft timing of emphasis and decrescendo speak to a singular genius, skill, and artistry. It's as if Johannes, himself, personally lost the Alhambra to his enemies. The yearning memory, the pain of loss and deepest sorrow course through this offering. I defy anyone to find its equal.
His playing is wonderful, no matter of his sexuality, or what he looks like. It's the guitaring that he has mastered that is the point in the exercise. Just enjoy what you hear. Nothing else matters.
Johannes Moller must be reincarnated. No one can play like this and have lived such a short time. I sit here transfixed by the beauty of this piece and the interpretation by this master of the guitar. Absolutely flawless and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Guitar playing like this requires more talent than most people are capable of developing. I can't imagine how much time went into intense practice to play this well!! Nice job! Thanks for posting this.
Excellent¡ I've noticed that he plays the AABBABC structure, which is different from the AABBC structure that most guitarrist play. I`ve only heard it from A Segovia
It doesn't get better than this. He is touring Australia at the moment and wouldn't you know, I am overseas. Bugger! I would have definitely gone to his concert.
There are just so many simply astounding guitar players today, the arrival of youtube mearly reinforces that it is virtually impossible to say who is your favourite. I always liked John Williams, then I discovered Ana Vidovich and now I tune into this guy. I just want to say, if you have this sort of God given talent please carry on playing and allowing us to hear you, personally speaking you make my day every time I hear music like this. Also check out Astorius by Albeniz.
Just perfect! (Except for 0.56) So breathtaking the way you express what Tarrega wanted to show us, so admiring how can you resist 5 minutes of such an intense tremolo!

All paints is used by this player! :) He is not only talented but mostly can feel and gift the feelings to the listeners. Thanks, Johannes!

Watching johannes and listening to this exquisite creation is a religious or more accurately, a truly spiritual experience for me.

una vez un profesor me dijo que si vas a gesticular y poner caras al tocar, como minimo tu interpretacion debe ser increible... esta interpretacion lo es, y sus muecas reflejan lo que disfruta haciendo su trabajo.
Soulful, incredible too.
Ive been playing guitar for 9 years, bass for 8 years, and stand up bass for 4 years. This is hard.
Absolutely Brilliant and Impressing
Muy bello, la mejor interpretación de todas las que he visto hasta ahora.
