Great review. I bought my Chanel bags years ago before they became so expensive. I also found it uncomfortable. I do love them for what they represent but decided to sell them since I rarely use them. Once acquired and that was off my bucket list, I realized they just sat on the shelf. It's not safe to walk around the city with a Chanel bag anymore. I agree the black and style is very formal and I just don't dress that way anymore. It feels like the bag is everywhere fake or real. And most importantly, Chanel put a 5 year limit on many repairs and my bags are no longer 100% refurbishable - a deal breaker for me. My best advice is to not to keep it if it causes more anguish than joy in real life. But keep it if it is meaningful and you cherish it. I have moved on so I'm happy to rehome to someone who will enjoy them more than I currently do. Please keep these type of honest reviews coming.
Well said and makes me more happy that I was never really into this stuff. I would only get a few Coach bags or some cheaper brands for a good profit. However, I limit myself to only a few. I only use a few bags anyways so don’t want too many. I would never spend over $1000 on any bag. It is just not worth it.
Wow, I wish more people reviewed and listed pros/cons like you do. This is so well done, thank you! Edit: This is an afterthought, but it would be absolutely amazing if you did reviews like this with other bags you own. Of course you don't have to, but your insight is incredibly valuable to me, because I am picky with my handbags and I like to know EVERYTHING haha. I also would not buy a Chanel Classic Flap, I bought a nonbranded version that has the same structure and it drove me crazy. I like to be able to use handbags, but to have something so delicate as a Chanel Classic Flap it would make me sad to not be able to use it often or on extremely special occasions.
I was just checking back in the comments to see if anyone had any feedback I should use for future videos so I can give you what you want. Imagine my happy surprise when I saw your edit! Thanks so much for that. I would LOVE to do a review like this on my other bags. Will definitely add that to the schedule. (This upcoming Wednesday June 5 might be a watches video but the following week will be a bag review.) I’ll always value your feedback, positive or negative. Thanks again @euriditia. ❤ If you or anyone else reading this has a preference about which bag I should review next, feel free to let me know.
Thank you for your review, I love this! I’ve had my CF for a few years now, light neutral colored, and it’s my dream bag. I’ve dreamt about getting it since my teenage years. Seeing fashion shows from Karl’s time, especially when Kimora Lee was a bride, made me love Chanel even more. It’s truly a beautiful, iconic and timeless piece IMO.
I have two double flaps and I have never thought about any of the things that you're thinking about right now but I didn't pay $10,000. One was gifted and one I bought a long time ago so it was nowhere near that price I just wear it.
Oh I love the Chanel classic flap! that Bag is stunning on you! very chic! theres a hack were you can tie the chains and stuff it in the bag, so you can carry it as a top handle. I have the Jumbo in lamb skin and the Maxi in caviar, that one i perfer to carry as a top handle. ❤ keep up the amazing videos!
I did the same ocd body experimentation on my nike, vans, adidas crossbody bags to find the ones that will fit me perfectly while I move on my daily missions. The most expensive bag I have is a leather 400 dollar men's crossbody bag by Roots Canada. Rugged light leather handcrafted in Italy. Natural patina and gets softer with age. It doesn't make me feel like a Princess like your Chanel bag, but does makes me feel like a Cowboy. In my opinion aesthetically yours is not overrated. The chain mechanism is interesting and not delicate. But it is overpriced like most things for women are. I respect Chanel though since I wear their men's colognes.
I've gone to the Chanel leather handle bags, and selling my classic flap black caviar shw purchased from NY boutique three years ago....Never carried it, even once.
@@janegoldberg I have a buyer, though you might be talking me out of it 😁 Love your bag, and might buy one like it. Waiting on the new medium Trendy to arrive from NY.
My friend, great video, I have been working a lot for get luxury handbags, I only have 4 , one of them is Chanel caviar double flap black gold hardware , but it is no too comfortable, it is like white elephant
Completely agree. Need more of these type of honest reviews. I also have a Chanel bag in caviar but it's so heavy even before I put anything in. I agree with OP it's like carrying a brick!
Thank you so much! If you want me to cover any specific topic about bags, feel free to let me know and I will consider it. Have a great day and thanks again for your support.
@@janegoldberg I get where you're coming from seeing them as an investment, but the super fakes might change all that. From what I've heard, it's getting harder and harder to tell the difference. 😊

Thank you so much for your thoughts and support. I had no idea about the 5 year limit; that is useful intel. Agree 1000%.

Karl & Chanel were the best! My very first dream bag was a Duma Backpack in 1994, second was the Chanel classic flap! Still with me today🤩

I enjoyed reading about your thoughts here. Thank you for sharing them with me. Hope you have the best day!
Hi, great video! I really, really wish the chain were longer. That is my biggest issue with the bag. It prevents me from wearing it more often.
Aw, that’s totally understandable. I’ve heard of people taking their bags to Leather Surgeons for an adjustment with success.
Wow I never that, I have always wanted a CF thanks for letting me know how heavy it is
You’re welcome. It is okay for some people. It can go either way! (The Lady Dior is seemingly even heavier haha.)
I really enjoy your reviews 💜
Your intelligence and sincerity comes though.
We love what we love irrespective of cons. I love my classics flaps 👛

To me, the sad thing is that people who would be tempted to spend 10K on a pocketbook probably have an addiction to status-seeking. Get help.
Thank you for sharing your opinion. These classic bags are growing in value faster than the market so I can see it both ways. :)
