When you think of a farmer, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind?
Is it someone wearing tattered clothes and staring at the sky? Well, if it’s something close to this description, it’s not entirely your fault. Even in today’s schoolbooks they are represented this way. Modern farmers are quite different from what you imagine them or picture them to be. They are educated, wear good clothes, work very hard and take their career seriously just like us.
When Akshayakalpa was first started, we wanted to generate wealth in the villages not just wealth, but a farmer should be able to live and dream like an urbanite, grow as a professional and should be in a position to hire people to work for them on the farm. This is the intension with which we work with farmers.
Discover the story of an Akshayakalpa farmer’s from Chitradurga district, Gayatripura village. A story of Shashi Kumar - A food analyst who worked in an MNC but came back to his village to continue his family-owned business - Farming. When he first joined us, he had only 2 cows but by the end of 2018 the count of his cows reached 10.
At Akshayakalpa, we have a committed team who spread the word about organic farming and help them transform their soil to organic. We are with them at every step and assist them with anything they need and help them transit to become a good farmer - A farmer who is driven by the desire to provide pure, unadulterated milk to everybody. Today, we have onboarded over 700 farmers who produced organic milk in over 700 farms!
