I was just about 13 when this game came out. I got it for my birthday. I liked it but did not appreciate it as i should have. I was able to get to the 3rd disc but at the time I did not understand you can teach abilities from your weapons and items you obtained throughout the game. I am 32 now and Ive been playing this game for the first time since i was about 14. Now my brain found time to develop, i now understand not only the ability system fully more but appreciate the fantastic story. This game is a fan service to the classic final fantasy games in terms of the 4 character battle system, rearranged segments and bits from classic ff games. Even scores in general have that FFIV feel to it (FFII for me, first ever ff game) was wonderful. Not to mention the mist part of the game is very similar to something from iv. I have never beat the game. Im changing that this month.

Even though IX is one of my most disliked FF games i still have always loved the music in it. IX actually have my favorite battle theme in the whole series.
@Xtafa For me personally i don't like the world,setting or characters(i love Vivi though). It's too "fantasy" for my tastes, i like FF games with more "realistic" characters and setting like VI,VII,VIII and X. I could say Crystal Chronicles is an exception as i really enjoy it. Although i can't stand XIII or any of it's sequels. FF XV too was a great disappointment, but i still have small hope that Episode Ardyn and the final update could redeem it a bit.
That theme is my favourite theme . ıt reminds me of my teenagehood time , those words which go with the theme had a great impact on me at that time. ı remember playing the the game and watching the first Demo of the game where they take you ın a hast journey to their town then ı remember glancing at the detailed town and wishing to be in it since their evil at that time was not very sinister as if ı were able to forsake our sinister future which was smiling at us from the horizon

final fantasy 9 always felt like the love letter to final fantasy as a whole. Dont know why but it just ooozes charm and personality and it feels like every bit of the game minus the card game was just a massive passion and geek out fest from the people who worked on it
Makes me cringe just thinking about all the work and planning that has to go into that....it's enough just to get FFVII to be honest. I'm grateful just for that! And we don't even have the first part released yet. These are HUGE projects.
