@SolomonsCorner The dude came from an abusive household, When he goes to his high school reunion, no one knows him. Which I think we both agree is a classic sign of someone with low self esteem. He's been in jail repeatedly and he has no life partner. Oh, and also the fact that the man is in a dangerous line of work and yet he allows. A client in this case Freddy to emotionally manipulate him into Reducing how much he gets paidfor that line of work is a pretty serious example of what i'm saying. The inability inability to are you in conflict on your own behalf and pursue something aggressively For your own self, interest is a sign of low self-esteem. Confident self-loving people are assertive.
@@billyin4c514 You’re right. I never thought of it that way. I always saw Ray’s and Freddy’s relationship as a deep bond with some issues. Your point has me rethinking the entire show though

He lets him go because he knows if he kills freddy someone in business with freddy will come after him then someone else then someone else. He sees that and that is why he says i am the who made a mistake, mistake of getting in this life. Thus he leaves everything behind. I hope this team makes another show.
Past friendship, remnants of respect, possible revenge from Freddy's partners Ray does not know about, and knowing that Freddy's gambling will eventually catch up to him and Ray won't be around to bail him out. What's absolutely baffling is why Freddy didn't ask Ray for help knowing the terrible damage Ray can bring forth. That's why Ray says "I'm the one who made the mistake", meaning trusting Freddy. To Ray Freddy was a friend, and he showed it by taking on his debt. To Freddy Ray was a useful but ultimately disposable tool.
I always felt he gave him a pass since he shot up his in-laws house. That really fucked things up between Ray and Freddy. Also Freddys wife went to Ray to see if Ray could help Freddy out of a jam. Ray knows that if Freddy doesnt pay his debt he's as good as dead. This was Rays way of "closer that chapter with Freddy".
Think ray knew confronting him and ending any friendship would hurt Freddy worse then killing him. The shame and regret of setting up one of your best friends is worse then ending him. Living with it is far worse
Ray ultimately comes to see this situation as his fault. Before he leaves, he admits, "I'm the one that made the mistake." This statement can be interpreted in several ways. It could refer to his involvement with Rafael, suggesting that the entire mess stems from Ray choosing to work with him. Alternatively, after visiting Remi-guy who's owed a gambling debt by Freddy-Ray may have realized that being friends with Freddy was a mistake. Throughout the show, Ray would do favors for his friends, even putting himself in harms way for his friends, Freddy wouldn’t do the same for him by tipping him off to the setup, Freddy is a scumbag and has no heart, Ray is may be saying that their friendship is a mistake. There's also the possibility that Ray is reflecting on the car accident that killed Zoe, where he grabbed the wheel during the accident, which could be interpreted as a literal mistake by Ray that caused the accident, leading to this mess. Lastly, he’s been questioning his work throughout Season 3, it can be interpreted that he’s recognizing his choice to continue this line of work as a mistake.
@@liamhainsworth3105 yeah … he took out a friend for money in this series. He’d take out anyone if the money is right. The only exception is his daughter.

I’m just curious did Freddy send 2 guys to kill Ray at the end?
He led Ray into a trap
Spoiler warning!
Rafael hired Ray and another girl to move drugs for him. While doing the job, Ray and the girl got into an accident and an elderly couple offered to help them. Rafael killed them to cover their track. Ray told Rafael to take the girl to a hospital and he would finish the job by himself (she was not seriously injured, just had a concussion). After Ray completed the job and went back to collect the payment from Rafael, Rafael told Ray that the girl didn't make it (he killed her to cut off loose ends). After that, Rafael threatened Freddy to lure Ray into a trap to do the same thing to him but they were unsuccessful.
You never really know who sent them or if they were successful..it’s left open for the viewer to ponder..
Nah I think they were just a pair of opportunistic thieves who didn't know who they were dealing with
I never really considered that but that's a good shout. I assumed it was random, but maybe it does suggest that he's made enemies along the way (Freddy and otherwise) who won't forget about you even if you leave the life
also shout out to the first two commenters who don't know what you're talking about lmao
Freddy was a piece of shit, and ray has classic signs of dudes with low self-esteem because he let Freddy get away with too much shit.
You’re the first person I see comment about Ray having low self-esteem. Aside from Freddy, what else have you that impression?
@@billyin4c514 I thought I was agreeing with this up until you refereed to "Confident self-loving people" as assertive. If you don't think Ray's assertive then idk what to tell you.
@HaydenHendry Not assertive in his financial dealings with Freddy.
Why do you all think Ray lets Freddy go here? Their past and friendship at one point in time?
He lets him go because he knows if he kills freddy someone in business with freddy will come after him then someone else then someone else. He sees that and that is why he says i am the who made a mistake, mistake of getting in this life. Thus he leaves everything behind. I hope this team makes another show.
@@arbozaliyan Very good points. I love Ryan's work and am really excited to see what he does next.
Reckon Freddy will lose plenty of sleep thinking that Ray could enact revenge at any time. Mentally this would likely destroy him over time
he let him go because he was his friend. plain & simple. Ray was/is hurt by the betrayal.
He reminds me of me
Why let him live? Discuss...
Ray's not just a killer...he's got morals mate!!
Think ray knew confronting him and ending any friendship would hurt Freddy worse then killing him. The shame and regret of setting up one of your best friends is worse then ending him. Living with it is far worse
Freddy was Ray's big mistake. And Ray told about it.
Also not need to kill dead man.
What episode is?
It's the finale of the final season I believe.
Dewey Crowe trawelled long long way I see 😁
What an actor hey just brilliant
This is the industry you picked to make a living off… suddenly you expect loyalty ??? 😂😂😂
He was a friend…no matter what “business” you’re in, friends and loyalty are an unwritten rule
This type of work requires levels of trust through and through or you don’t last long
@@liamhainsworth3105 yeah … he took out a friend for money in this series. He’d take out anyone if the money is right. The only exception is his daughter.
Ray knows after what he did to Freddy's family, that Ray had it coming.
Eh no, Freddy's family knew to leave Ray alone when Ray confronted Davros brother and he said he was just all talk. This scene is about another criminal fixer above Freddy that felt Ray disrespected him and forced Freddy to give up Ray.
@@Agentshadling Ray went into Freddy's daughters house, and threatened her, davos her husband and his family, with a shotgun. If anyone had done that to Ray he would have killed them already. So he understands Freddy's betrayal.
@@josephscott1436 I read the scene completely different. Ray was the only one keeping Freddie's debt collectors at bay, so Ray walking away was him throwing Freddy to the wolves
@@jakefairley6993 I can see that as one of the reasons he did it. A final goodbye to an old friend and guy he did jobs for.
Probably just me being American. But it weirds me out when dudes in this show walk around in briefs without any self consciousness about it and all.
What does being American have to do with the price of tea in China? Did you ever see a single dad ever in your life? Any dad? No?
I'm an American and wondering what the flip you going on about? You flip head, don't say anything, how's that?
@@bruce8190 Yeah nah mate. No American asks what "you going on about". I know because I'm American ma-...dude.

@@lh7325 I don't even wear them when I go out during the day.
the series could have been so much better with better actors
Ray's brother? Amazing acting
@@martinlandless8347 true he was probably the only one who could act.
Actors are a dime a dozen. It's whose willing to be paid a meagre amount just for the opportunity. Majority of big name actors can't act worth a shite. Yet are paid millions. Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, and Tom Hanks are as pathetic has they come and never believable!
What was wrong with the acting?
Honestly majority of Australian shows suck nowadays. This show has some of the best acting I’ve seen from a Aus series.
Freddy have a dimmy mate calm down
