    I love watching your recipes because it’s the little details like putting the wooden spoon in oil to check it that I learn that would never learn in school or anywhere else and also the recipes are so practical sometimes other recipes over complicate things 😂😍

    Looks nice! Mom always said to cool the dough before adding eggs, about 10-15 minutes. I stir by hand with a wood spoon.

      A Candy thermometer clipped to side of ur pot/pan is actually better for newcomers , you can get ur oil to perfect temperature which should be anywhere between
      325 ° F. to 350 ° F.
      So u can adjust it to exactly the way u like ur Brown Color & speed of frying to be...🍩🍩🥯🥯👍👍👍👍

    I’ve made cream puffs with a similar choux pastry, and they were amazing. They didn’t last long either. I’ll definitely try this recipe. I did panic about the paper being added to the oil. Only for a split second. I reminded myself you always know what you’re doing before you said anything in the video.

      Yes, absolutely. It might not keep its shape that well because of the longer cooking time, but it is technically possible. Hope this helps.

      Hi Jessica. You can make this dough up to 3 days ahead and store it in an airtight container until you are ready to pipe.

      I’m not sure how that will turn out as it will change the consistency of the batter. It might break apart when fried. I would say, makes these as it is, to get that perfect texture and structure, then dip in strawberry glaze.

      It's not an option for me at the moment, as getting these content online takes up time already. A bakery is not just about having a place to bake and sell what I share here, it requires a serious commitment to put up and maintain one. Maybe someday, I will. But for now, you can make all these goodies in the comfort of your home.

    My grandmother used to put a match into the oil to check the temperature. When the match caught fire, the oil was hot enough. But you have to use the old-style matches with the white phosphorous head. The new matches don't work.

      @@biggerbolderbaking Your wooden spoon method is easier and cheaper. But not as showy. Your method also doesn't risk introducing chemicals into the oil. But who doesn't like a good show?

      I don’t recommend it, Marilyn. It might not hold its shape when deep fried. It might work if you bake these.

      There are recipes for crullers that use oil instead of butter. I have not tried it though, but it is technically possible.

      Technically, you can. Note that flours do not absorb liquids the same way; it may need more or less the amount in the recipe. You may need to adjust the amount of wet ingredients until it reaches the same consistency as shown in the video. Hope this helps.

      Did you measure according to the written recipe? If you did, perhaps it wasn’t chilled enough before frying.

      @@biggerbolderbaking I followed you're video Step by step. I even left it in the fridge over night. When I fried them. They came out like a doughnut then a minute later they became soft. The next day they were flat. They were delicious but you couldn't pick it up without it folding

      I know this is difficult to understand, but people around the world measure in different ways. We have to give cups/metric measurements and imperial measurements. It takes too much out of the flow of the presentation, and really slows it down. We know, we tried it before, and it was just as tricky.
