There are plenty of living giant snakes that we do know what they look like though. This model seems to have been very very loosely based on a burmese python. It is quite frustrating to see everyone spreading fear and misinformation every time they even mention giant snakes though. Burmese pythons are one of the most docile of all giant constrictors and people just love to paint them in a bad light. They have absolutely no interest in attacking humans unless they are threatened. Ive kept them as pets since 2002. For the record, this whole Burmese python thing is just a giant publicity stunt for florida. They have no interest in getting rid of burmese pythons. Infact theyve taken many measures to make SURE that never happens. They literally limit when and where they can be killed as if they were a game animal. They arent even hiding it. People are just ignorant and dont pay attention. Florida wants the snakes there because its distracting from the chemical spraying thats decimating wildlife. Burmese pythons are their scapegoat for all the animals that are dying off. The burmese pythons also generate tremendous publicity and tourism for florida. They also have made absolutely ZERO impact on the burmese python population. They time the python hunts so that the populations ALWAYS have a chance to bounce back. If they were really trying they would have SOMETHING to show for it. ANYTHING.... But they do not, because the whole thing is just for the publicity. Its amazing that no one else talks about it. It is so obvious what they are doing.
Great diorama. The detail on the snake is outstanding. The face, inside of mouth, and color are very realistic. I specially like the use of mesh fabric to get the skin texture. touching up the figures and canoe just made it even better.
The sculpture turned out great, but I must point out that this species of snake develops more in length than in thickness and size. I'm not saying it turned out bad, but that the snake would be longer
in a fantasy universe, there could even be this kind of development, but I'm talking about psychology, it would make more sense for it to be longer, exactly why I said that the piece is very well done.
