    Honestly, so happy to have rediscovered you. Couldn't tell you how many times I fell asleep listen to your "Hide and Seek" cover on repeat. So happy you are still making this beautiful music 🎵 💕

    Dan, I've been following you for years -- and your voice has developed amazingly. It was always good, but you've developed more resonance, versatility, range, emotion, clarity, sweetness. . . WOW!

      Thank you so much! When I first started I was a high schooler and since then I have completed a music degree (voice major) so I have definitely put the work in. I'm glad it's come across!

    It's been 8 years. Hus face changed, his voice got deeper.
    It has been a very long time. I hope you stay safe there mate!

    Needs more ring... At 2:00 "one will" sounds minor and it should be major (unless that was done intentionally different than the Ringmasters)

    Dang I'd so much rather hear you without the autotune! :( Just a couple cents off isn't a bad thing, it humanised it! This is the best song I've heard in a while. I've watch the Ringmasters do it over 150 times by now. Keep up the good work :)

    I’m a little late to this video, but I have to give you due props. You actually did a better job on this than “Ringmasters” I know they’re from Sweden, but I understood the lyrics, and layering on your video much better.

  • @GeorgeTrudeau
    @GeorgeTrudeau 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You are an excellent musician. The one opportunity to improve would be to be more facially expressive. Put that together, and this will pop! Of course, it's four of the same face, so that probably hides many of the subtle expressions you DO present. Keep up the great work!!

    • @danwright32
      @danwright32  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @IKtheVS you got it exactly. I used to act professionally as a kid and I enjoyed it, but when I grew up and realized I could just sing without acting (and without the pressures of doing it professionally) I definitely realized I preferred that. I just like making these videos :)

    Technically perfect, but performing this piece invites comparisons to ringmasters, and your pronunciation and theatre isn’t in the same league sadly. They have rubato and emotion that isn’t here.

    • @danwright32
      @danwright32  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Literally never claimed to be better than (or even close to as good as) Ringmasters, but thanks for your totally necessary comment.

    • @trenthamilton7532
      @trenthamilton7532 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@danwright32 Literally never claimed that you claimed to be better than ... etc. Sadly, when you cover a piece made famous by a different group you're going to get comparisons. My comparison, for what it's worth, is that your singing is excellent from a technical perspective, but too metronomic and lacked feeling. You're completely welcome to ignore my feedback, as I suspect you will gladly do based on your previous comment, which was also totally necessary.

    • @Jaschify
      @Jaschify 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@trenthamilton7532 Well that's probably because he has to record every voice separateley and put them together in post production. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to have a synchronized masterpiece (like this). So as a result there is no other way than giving up on feeling, pronunciation, slowing down / speeding up to emphasise a certain phrase etc.
      In my opinion, both works have their unique challenges (live performance as a group and solo-ing a 4-man piece). So its hard to compare, don't you agree?
      I think we all can agree that both are things most of us would never be capable of and can only done by incredible talented people.

    • @trenthamilton7532
      @trenthamilton7532 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Jaschify thanks for your comment, but I disagree. Multitracks can be recorded against a click track, and it’s possible to set that click track with all of the subtleties you want. It isn’t organic, but still doable.

    • @Jaschify
      @Jaschify 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@trenthamilton7532 It's fine, you don't have to agree :)
      I did not notice a was talking to a professional who has mastered the production of synchronized covers, because there is no evidence on your chanel.
      However, you still probably agree (because you seem like a smart man) that it is never a nice thing to tell an artist who has probably spent days or even weeks on producing a piece: "Yeah it's good, but XY did better". Or as a wise man once said:"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"
      So let's keep this community a happy place and motivate the talented to keep doing what they are best of :)
