Charlie Cristian: one of the best ways to get into Swing/Jazz and/or to Jazz up your blues! (and a great and inspiring player). No one here even mentions his name... strange... Very fine explanation.
You nailed it, Keith, as usual... But I'd divide the 'fatherhood' between Charlie and his bandmate in Oklahoma, T-bone Walker. Those two gave us modern lead guitar.
+Jensen Bell I read one source that said they were friends. That T gave Charlie an ES ???? the fancy one es 250? Charlie supposedly didn't like it as well as his 150.
I have this issue but the links for the whole lesson above don't work. In fact all the videos for the last few months on guitarworld don't work. It is not clear to me why this is so as the magazine lessons give a link and don't work. Bring back the CD.
sorry guys -you got my stuff by mistake. i will remember to check all bulk e-mail twice before hand from now on. by the way, it s been quite interesting and your critiques were a gas !
Sent you a video response to one of your videos. IT's my work. Computer doesnt let me reply by comment and make the vid responses at the same time so I did it seperately..........
Gracias 👍🏽
Very best MISTER

Charlie was on a much higher level than T-Bone.
Lol yer gonna start a rant lol
@@imannonymous7707 T-Bone was a hell of a player. Dont think his skills get enough attention.
musik102 yea sure but you gotta remember T-Bone chose to play that way. He very well could’ve been playing Jazz with CC
It's unreal to think that he was only 25 when he died and people are STILL dissecting his stuff.
Freddie green and charlie my two favorite swing guitar players, all that modern jazz meh too bzzy but this, necessary listening

FYI - the lyrics are an epiphany of my sobriety -
@joeyannetta Dude, how is anyone else gonna tell you if you can play or not?
Can't you tell for yourself your own abilities?
