      Thank you, unfortunately I have never used 1300D so I can't tell you that, in terms of image quality, Nikon has much better sensor than 1300D, especially the dynamic range is better on Nikon.

    Great video man! I also have the D5500 and it is a fantastic camera. Combined with some good glass like the Sigma 17-50 2.8, Nikkor 85mm 1.8, or even the AF-P lenses, you can take some phenomenal images. I've shot everything from portraits, landscape, wildlife, and product photography all with this camera. In my opinion, the D5300, 5500, and 5600 are all amazing DSLRs for the price. Keep up the good work!

      I bought a used D5500 after renting it for a week for a day trip to the zoo. I still love my D750 but the weight of it combined with my FF lenses make the D5500 my choice for vacationing, hiking and day trips. I love the feel of it in my hands - the grip is very comfortable for someone like me with smaller hands.
      And I agree with the Sigma 17-50 2.8. It's surprisingly sharp even at 2.8.

    • @Luigiz28
      @Luigiz28 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michelle McCartney Exactly! You can even throw on the 35mm 1.8g lens and make it super travel friendly. I took the 35mm with me on my trip to Prague this summer and it was super convenient to carry around all day.

    Spot on review. Had this for 2 years, 30k images, and faultless. Paired with Tamron 16-300 always makes it a lightweight travel camera. Even with big hands I find the grip comfortable and the menu system with My Menu and touch is super. Enjoy!

    I've also got the Nikon D5500, and i completely agree with this beautiful video! The image resolution is amazing, and although there are some problems when using autofocus, it's easy to get used to manual focus. Overall, amazing DSLR, and you should definitely buy it!

    I actually started my photography journey with the D5100, then D5300. I moved up to the D750 a few months ago, but just bought this one for my girlfriend today. Wanting to teach her the basics of photography, and I think this will work really well. Great video, thanks for it 👍

      Thank you, but I don’t think that DSLRs are suitable for beginners. It is a dead technology, so there is no point in learning how to use them anymore. DSLM cameras with full time live view are much more suitable.

    In my opinion the D5500 is a very good video camera. It may has no 4k, (tbh, who has a 4k screen? also, most filmmakers prefer softer images) but it has a very clean image (no morrey or rolling shutter). It's also good at low light. So if you want a camera that's awesome for stills AND good for video, the D5500 is the way to go.

      I agree this camera is the best deal for photos. I am completely satisfied with the picture quality. However, I would not recommend it for video. It does not focus quickly so the video looks ugly with camera trying to focus all time...same experience as this youtube shows above in the movie part ( 4:51).

    Mine is RED. I had a stable of Nikon DSLRs, the RED D5500 and a couple of F lenses are the only ones I kept after switching to Nikon's Z series cameras. I use this camera mainly for video. If you're skilled and manual focus, its great. The downside really is the battery life. When you're shooting video, it will run out fast and your memory can get filled up quickly if you dont have a huge memory card.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good. clear and to the point. About the ergonomics though. I went to this camera from a sony A 6000 because the ergonomics and controls on the Sony were so awkward. The Sony took great pictures if you were taking still lifes or posed shots but for taking street or action shots it was entirely too slow to operate. This comparison could lead to a lot of disappointment when going from the Nikon DSLR. That was my experience anyhow. Coming back to the Nikon was like getting back together with an old familiar friend.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me one key advantage of A6000 series over D5500 is the rotating thumb dial. I wich D5500 had at least two dials. Other than that handling isn't so bad.

      Not sure what you mean by classic view, but you can switch between viewfinder and screen using the toggle next to mode dial marked with Lv.

      In imaging is the 80d and 5500 more or less on the same level?

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nikon 50mm AF-S F1.8 is very good lens for portraits. Image quality of 80D is similar to D5500, D5500 is a bit better, but both are very good.

    Is it still worth after 2 years? I am a newbie to photography... I can buy this camera for less then 700swiss francs a microfon included. I want to use it for street photography (skating, fashion, traveling etc. you know what I mean hahaha)
    Is there a better camera out there which is not expensive?

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not a bad camera, but I would recommend getting a mirrorless camera. Take a look at Sony A6000 / A6300 and Panasonic G85.

    • @JWash617
      @JWash617 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are on a budget then get this camera.
      I dont really recommend it for fast moving objects like skate photography or sports. As always a great photo requires a great photographer that know all his stuff. I can tell you that I shot $7,000 USD weddings with this camera and 2 lenes; Nikon 35mm 1.8 and the Tamron 24-70mm 2.8. I also own a SONY A6500 but had to pay $1,200+$400 USD for the camera and a 35mm 1.8 lens. I believe this camera and that same setup is around $600 now .

    Nikon d5500 or the sony a6000 which one is better?

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For stills, I would take the Nikon because the lens selection is much better.

    • @tostentwo
      @tostentwo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had an a6000 before this camera and found the Nikon much better to use. The Sony has a very complicated and unmanageable control system for quick adjustments and the buttons are too small to be found without looking. It also has a delay between the picture you see being taken and the one that shows up. All this makes it very difficult to use for active photography. Setting up a shot for a still life may be fine but for me the Nikon is so much better. It feels like a camera rather than a cigarette package with buttons drawn on it.

    dobra recenzia :) len ma irituje to porovnavanie video samples medzi budget DSLR s highend mirrorlessom.... vela recenzentov porovnava "fabiu" s "panamerou".... D5500 za cenu 400€ toci krasne videa a vyrovna sa drahym kameram .... horsie je to so zvukom pri autofocuse a s ergonomiou..ale to sa da poriesit...THUMB UP

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ďakujem, bohužiaľ nič lacnejšie na porovnanie videa som tu nemal, Nikon má rovnaký senzor a použil som pri ňom omnoho ostreší objektív, takže taký rozdiel by tam podla mňa byť nemusel. Mne osobne sa video kvalita DX Nikonov ani porovnateľných Canonov nepáči. Aj taký Panasonic G7, ktorý je za podobnú cenu má neporovnateľne lepšie video ako napríklad D5500, dokonca aj lepšie smartfóny pri správnom použití, takže ja mám D5500 rád, ale nie na video.
