It's not solely because of short form content either, Humans have limited attention and focus, and it has been shown in studies, that we are more diverted, when one of these happens
a. Not Instant Gratification : If a content takes time to provide us gratification, rather than instant gratification
b. Information Overload : We dont want details, We are more focused to what is concise and to the point, no extra details, just what's necessary
c. Boredom : Watching for longer hours, causes boredom, eventually breaking the focus + we already build the habit of checking phones, or anything else, when we feel slightly bored or off, it becomes active behaviour.
Why? because neuroscientifically and cognitively, this is how our brain works, and we have inherited these!

Let's take the converse of statement - one is bad at physics coz the lectures he is watching to read a topic is very long and time consuming, so he can't manage time, so he is bad.
Therefore he approaches to TH-cam Shorts, to understand the topic in simple and less time consuming way.
