Oh hello on a Saturday! Happy Halloween! 🎃 I figured you guys will be busy tomorrow so I'm here a little earlier :) So today I'll be doing some tingly tapping and scratching on the metal parts of the 3Dio and ears with some stiletto claws, as well as doing some tktktk, "click", "relax", and light ear blowing. I'm so shocked at how stunning her whispering is. It's soooo gentle for sleep. Literally the best whispering asmr I've heard amazing!
I've seen a few of these new websites / apps about offsetting your carbon footprint, and although I think it's very enlightening, noble, and most definitely helps climate causes around the globe, don't forget that it's INDUSTRY, large CORPS, and BILLIONNAIRES that have the largest footprints and we need to work together and vote people in office who can challenge them at all levels of government. THEY should be paying for the climate crisis, not us individuals.
I was just coming to post something similar!! BP (British Petroleum) invented the term “carbon footprint” to blame individuals for the damage THEY’RE doing to the environment! Since the 1980s, just 100 large companies (including BP!!!) are responsible for ~70% of global emissions. So as awesome as I think it is to make people aware of the climate crisis, I also agree that the concept of carbon footprints is propaganda to blame people who have very little control over the situation! Thanks for posting this!
@@bugslutt And people like Steven Donziger who expose the destruction of forests wrought by companies like Chevron are put in jail after having already been kept nearly 3 years years under house arrest for daring to point out the evil these large corporations do.
I'd also say that the while the idea of "offsetting" sounds nice it allows people and companies to claim they're making a difference without changing their own behavior. The goal should be to truly reduce emissions, and these offset schemes just shift responsibility around.
Well, yes and no. I agree they should pay, and I agree they have the largest footprints, but it’s really a team effort. That’s probably a bit controversial to say, so I’ll explain.
All of those cheap commodities that are made with cheap exploitative labor are shipped here using diesel freight ships and sold to us the consumers for our convenience.
By no means am I pointing any fingers. It’s a system, and blaming it all on consumers or all on billionaires/corporations misses the point. We have to regulate the whole system, not just a part of it. And it’s going to require sacrifices, such as less convenience and less cheap commodities for us to enjoy.
I mean, it’s that, or we develop the tech (like renewables) necessary to maintain the system without having such a large carbon footprint. But that is difficult, and efficiency is nice in theory but it has diminishing returns after a certain point.

Weird opinion but I actually always love asmr sponsor bits at the beginning of videos.... they are always so gentle and the in-ear whispering is my favorite and its so hard to come by, so sometimes ill tune into a video just to hear the sponsor and leave when the triggers begin lol
