He's so pleasant to listen to, singing or speaking! One of my favourite Rodrigos, he really brings out his idealism and his love for Carlo.

So beautiful, that he says" It´s not about me- I like to be of service for something"-this is the true artistic attitude by heart.

He SPEAKS as beautifully as he sings -- not always the case with even the greatest singers. (Think Beverly Sills, Kathleen Battle, Renee Fleming, et al. It's tempting to think of Hampsonas "godlike," but that would be blasphemous. He is simply one of the very best. Much MORE than a magnificent voice, he is even greater as an INTERPRETER of texts. I've never heard him sing a note that didn't seem to mean a great deal to him on the deepest personal level. The power of his sincerity is overwhelming.
