it's mostly because this is kinda slowed down as well as real fights are unpredictable. and you can only get these in at certain points that almost never chain together in this order.
Hand to hand... my dad survived Vietnam, and his standing philosophy was to never let the enemy get withing 100 yards of him. Granted, this is easier accomplished if you're guarding a base than stomping through the dense jungle overgrowth. His hand to hand training saved his life one night when his position was overrun and his rifle had a critical failure rendering it useless, so you do still need to know hand to hand.
It's not a plan 😂 If you think the thing is to repeat what you see in the video then you clearly never had a fight. Martial Art is only a tool, and for it to be effective you have to already know how to use it (already know how to fight due to experience) and you have to know the situation and the conditions in which you will use it (how a fight occurs and the different factors it brings with it like stress, panic and surprise). So, it's not about planning but about having experience, skills and technique. If you think it's about planning then you don't understand anything about fighting. Videos on TH-cam are about “How to deal with this or that?” well, don't let your opponent put you in that position/situation in the first place because that's just completely dumb. If your opponent wants to choke you and you see it, you will certainly find a way to counter it without needing to plan. You deal with what is needed in the present situation instead of thinking about the future and what will happen. I mean, you can, but that will just be a waste of time, energy and focus that might be precious for survival. Fighting isn't about planning but about doing your best, optimizing your technique and being able to improvize in any given situation when needed. I mean, that's what soldiers are taught.
yes if somebody will attack you from that perticular angle in that perticular way than it will work if executed timely but thats my problem with techniques and drills. they subtract the unpredictability factor from the fight and timing and many other unknow factors. sparring is a must. use a rubber or a blunt or wodden knife to sparr and apply in the unpredictable environment.
Yeah drills are the most important thing in combat so your body does it naturally without thinking ab it so its best to have a wide variety of techniques and combos youve drilled
Doesn't look as flashy but what would be far more common is to just grapple around until the guy is in a position for one of your mates to safely put rounds through him.
As a brown belt in jujitsu and someone who has studied MMA for 20 years . Life or death hand to hand combat is nothing like this. Much more chaotic and hectic. People are going to grab you, punch you kick you bite you and try to hit you with anything they can grab.
Great vid!!! Even though some of you think most real fights on the streets or in a combat zone may not have the same outcomes like this vid, you can still use a lot of these techniques against inexperienced fighters.
I appreciate the realistic and detailed approach to combat. All these fancy disarms in movies. Yeah they look cool but they will get you killed. Swift, strong, small movements as few moves as it takes to get the advantage. Practice until it becomes second nature

The core influence is Filipino arnis-eskrima-arnis/indonesian silat, but just like how i've realized in my training, they are now just focusing on "movement". For instance, the throw they do when their gun is grabbed is a derivative technique from judo/jiu-jitsu. They simply saw a "movement" and modified it for their training. It is pretty cool what you can do when you stop seeing arts/styles and just see movement. That is why I love "kali" because it comes from two words. "Kali" = Kamut (body or hand) & Lihuk (Motion). Combine the words and they actually mean "Body & hand motion". In my opinion this is what is necessary in doing "combatives" rather than focusing on "arts" in order to have a higher chance of survival. When you train long enough you just start seeing techniques that you like and find effective and then just incorporate them to make you better regardless of their background. A mix as "mac2flip" has said.
Doesn't matter which system of self defense is. At high lvl, doesn't matter remember the technique. If u know the anatomy of the human body, techniques are generated automatically. Wow very well choreographed fight scenarios. Too bad real combat isn't like that. It would be so convenient if enemies did sloppy attacks then cooperated as you counterattack.
It is mainly emphasizing kali concepts in their fighting style, however at this stage of training considering that this is military, it is mixed to a certain degree. For instance, that is a judo/jujutsu/jiu-jitsu throw when the gun is grabbed and the assailant is thrown 00:50 while at other gun grabs they were mainly Kali emphasized like at 00:17 & 1:28. Their basically transferring other techniques from other arts into their own style of fighting by modifying them for the combat situations at hand. I think it is quite a refreshing and innovating way of training actually, because that is what I'm doing. So far it is pretty useful. (Edit: I just want to point out this after rereading this comment I made. If you are looking to train like these guys, in my opinion, focus on the core martial art "CONCEPTS in their movement" from certain styles. Do not focus or be married to either a style or the styles because when you are fighting, you just want to focus on effective movement in the proper situation, which is basically what I see now, I don't see styles anymore. The core movement concepts I believe one should focus on is focus Filipino Martial Arts/FMA or Indonesian MA's that have Kali/arnis/eskrima/silat (These have a pretty good flow base in just general movement that is extremely transferable and is also where Western Boxing gets its flow from), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/bjj (no gi emphasis), Wing Chun (Don't include chi-sao considering FMA has enough flow drills for sensitivity), Tae Kwon Do/TKD (NO HIGH KICKS! Only low kick emphasis to lower body such as the shins/knees/hips while looking at their fluidity in their footwork. Plus those forearm blocks are also effective for striking just like the knife hand strikes. Just imagine striking someones face or neck with your forearm bone or knife hand! Even the palm strikes are pretty effective and can be like jabs. Look at Bas Rutten in his old fighting days! Palm strikes are horribly awesome!), and Muay Thai (Elbows and knees are your best friend in every situation). Everything else from other arts is extra. Judo, Shuai Jiao, Capoeira, Free style wrestling, Greco Roman Wrestling, Gi BJJ, Bagua, Xing Yi, Sikaran, Chin Na, Okinawan Karate, Bando, Kenjutsu, Hapkido, kyudo, Western Sport Boxing, Taijutsu, Toshindo, Krav Maga, Savate, ninjutsu, hell even Sumo which only had 1 technique I learned and kept while ignoring the rest. Basically, I didn't necessarily learn the style, I just looked at their movement and copied it as if It was like a dance and practiced it in both technique and sparring. This type of training which in my opinion is where people will be going to next in both combat and sport. I'm just a civilian, and so I decided to just learn and master the techniques that WILL be used in the combat zone. So basically what I do pertains to not only to the individuals unique fighting concept, but even encompasses general techniques that can be used by all. There is a lot I could say but I would have to be there in person to show you what I mean exactly. However if anyone has any questions, I'm happy to answer them as best as I can. Sorry for the added long response guys.)
awesome video I've watched a couple of these from you guys and I instantly recognize many of the disarming techniques and some of the take downs from my Aikido and Army Combatives training. Good job gentlemen. keep it up.
0:47 if i'm honest.... i have to admit, this made me a little aroused 0:52 yeh, this one is nonsense... no military guy is going to attack like this w a knife... and then dealing with a knife attacker..... not like this... no way... you will get stabbed 5 times before you can even fart! 1:03 ahahaha 'secure the perimeter!' and his eyes are glued to the guy, not around himself or any perimeter ; )P
Offensive Mindset then understand that it's not about mastering technique, it's about mastering the fundamental principles of physics that underpin all technique (like learning the alphabet) beginning with line (which includes the centreline), distance, angle, motion (circular& linear) alongside anatomical targeting(understand human anatomy) leverage, manipulation of the central nervous system (pain response)

Cirezel is on point. As a practitioner and instructor of FMA, Muay Thai, and BJJ, I could not agree with your assessment more.
Cirezel I don't know about you guys, but I can notice some wing chun included in there, wing chun is what I practise :)
THIS IS HOW YOU ADVERTISE AND INFORM!
awesome video I've watched a couple of these from you guys and I instantly recognize many of the disarming techniques and some of the take downs from my Aikido and Army Combatives training. Good job gentlemen. keep it up.
Actual hand to hand combat between skilled fighters almost always scales up to wrestling.
When me and my friend play fight:
Me: punching him,
My friend: ar you can’t punch,
Me: why?
My fiend: we don’t do that,
Me: 🤦♂️ then F off mate
Great Demonstrations. 🙏🏼😎
Solid Video.
0:47 if i'm honest.... i have to admit, this made me a little aroused
0:52 yeh, this one is nonsense... no military guy is going to attack like this w a knife... and then dealing with a knife attacker..... not like this... no way... you will get stabbed 5 times before you can even fart!
