they're both on the same page but Jeremy still has to play his part. It's an excellent and neutral commentary on NZ politics with no "wokeness" involved.
Bob was in on the joke and was definitely hamming it up, no further evidence is needed once you get to the Helen Clark bit, but also brought some of his own flavor of rich old white man. It's entertaining and endearing, Robert Jones is/was a pretty good example of many kiwis born in that era. Plenty of what would be considered today to be racist and sexist but really it does reflect on the culture of the time. I would like to think even the most woke yuppie could have a laugh at some of the things he says in this piece, EML was a piss take after all..
