      Christmas Eve 1994 also marked the end of the NFL in Los Angeles for 21 seasons as the Raiders and Rams would both leave Los Angeles and relocate to Oakland and St. Louis respectively. The Rams would return to Los Angeles in 2016, and after the Chargers made their bid to relocate to Los Angeles in 2017, the Raiders would leave Oakland for a second time in 2019 and relocate to Las Vegas.

      It was!! If you wanna see a nice pass that showed that Montana can still throw the bomb… Look at the Chiefs vs Oilers in the 93 divisional playoff… He put one on the money to Willie Davis and he missed it… Montana’s the GOAT for a reason!

      The day the NFL died in Los Angeles as in the following season, the Raiders and Rams would both leave LA for Oakland and St. Louis and for 21 seasons, there was no LA NFL team. That is until 2016, when the St. Louis Rams relocated back to Los Angeles, and 2017, when the San Diego Chargers relocated back to Los Angeles.

    Where the Chiefs had to win to get into the playoffs. Marcus Allen sure as hell put it to Al Davis and the Raiders that day. The amazing thing even when he benched by the Raiders and limited playing time, he still had all those touchdowns and over 10,000. Imagine if Al Davis didn't have a grudge against Marcus how many yards he could have ran for.

    • @MrT8599
      @MrT8599 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it was because there was a possibility that this might’ve been the last Raiders game in Los Angeles. That it was. I think also this being a win and in game, not to mention against a huge rival, made it a sellout. The biggest problem was that the Coliseum was just too big for an NFL team.

    The Raiders belonged in L.A. and still do considering their popularity eclipses both the Rams and Chargers. It was a mistake not allowing them to come back. They're a California team. Playing in Vegas is all wrong, they don't belong in the desert.

    • @studmuffin6630
      @studmuffin6630 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Raiders were definitely screwed out of moving back to LA. The irony is they followed all the guidelines to relocate the right way whereas the Rams didn’t and were sued by St. Louis and still got the support of the owners.

    • @walterlv01
      @walterlv01 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I live in Vegas and I agree - there are no Raiders fans out here but that's by design. The business model is to fill up the hotel rooms with out-of-town fans (Raiders fans from California and the visiting team fans from whomever they are playing that week). Most games here are at least 50/50 in terms of fan support and some teams that travel well (Chiefs, Steelers, Packers) have as much as 75% of the fan support at Raider home games. Many Raiders players and executives have stated that they feel like they play 17 road games per season.

  • @walterlv01
    @walterlv01 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    These were probably the two most disappointing teams in the NFL that season. Both started the year as favorites to come out of the AFC but the Chiefs were too old and broken down to contend and the Raiders were just meh all season long. Nobody thought they'd have to play the last game of the season just to get the #6 seed in the playoffs.
