    • @swapnadeepde8641

      Absolute scale is the difference between the potential energies where one of them is zero.(Here it is infinity)

    So gravitational potential is ultimately the PE per unit mass??

    • @santv5183
      @santv5183 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely

    • @NAYAN-t3e
      @NAYAN-t3e 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes 👍. And also it depends upon vertical height in earth's gravitational field. As height increases from the surface of the earth, that unit mass gains more gravitational potential & hence, the whole mass of the body gets potential energy only within earth's gravitational field.

  • @RajPrasad-j4t
    @RajPrasad-j4t ปีที่แล้ว

    What if there is a system of two particles A and B each having comparable mass , on this case how we will calculate potential energy of the system because here we would have to consider both forces , the force gravitational by A on B and force by B on A ???

    Sorry to say Sir
    I would like to give u one suggestion that
    In the beginning first of all u should give introduction of the topic(like in this video first of all u should tell what is gravitational P.E??
    Why it is requires to study??)
    I really like ur videos very much but the only thing is lack is this only
    I hope u may work on this..

    Sir I have doubt can you pl clear it
    Can potential energy be said as it is the energy that gets stored in object after some work is done on the object
    If this is true then if we consider a situation that an object is on the ground and if we lift it to certain height h by applying a force so we have done a work on it so we can say that at point on( h) height it has potential energy in it when we leave the ball it again gets displaced comes on the surface of earth because earth has done a work on it by applying a force of gravity on it and has displaced on it so according to above meaning for potential energy when the object is at ground
    My question is can we say that when it is on ground after falling at that point it has 'gravitational ' potential stored in it because earth has done some work on it
    The main point of the question is that can we say that potential energy in the ball when it is on ground is gravitational potential energy .

    • @swapnadeepde8641
      @swapnadeepde8641 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Gravitational potential energy is the potential energy stored in a body by the virtue of work done on it by gravitational force..

  • @dr.shivajiguram3486
    @dr.shivajiguram3486 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think that earth has done work on the done work on the object and the force it applied was of gravity it got displaced also due to gravity hence gravity is main here hence after earth has done work on it potential energy gets stored in it and all the work done included force of gravity hence it is called gravitational potential energy instead of only potential energy
    Pl tell me that the idea of gpe in my mind is it correct or it is called gravitational potential energy due to some another reason

  • @asiancollegeofteachers5870

    Well Sir, I have a point.
    Potential Energy is 0 at infinity because if you take the equation F=-G.M.m / R at put R= infinity at the distance then anything / infinity is zero hence potential energy = 0.
    1 ÷ ∞ = 0

      In term of spring when we stretch it .. we do some work and this work get stored in terms of potential energy and when we release the spring the stored energy get converted into kinetic energy and it come back to its original position
