He was a prof for Educational Science at my university, but I mostly remember him teaching us how good & systematic note taking makes writing academic papers waaay easier and how we could apply it to our studies. "How to Take Smart Notes" was a great book to read, and very inspiring, thank you for the recommendation. Unfortunately, I wasn't as happy with "Building a Second Brain". It's not as well researched as the other book, sort of all over the place and when you look up certain sources that are listed I found them contradictory to what was said in the book.
glad you found one of the book recommendations helpful :) and yeah building a second brain is his own methodology and i'm not sure what his sources are, but I do think things like the PARA method is a decent framework for structuring your folders and classifying the different tyeps of notes in a vault. if you're not a fan i would recommend the ACCESS method as well. But yeah, at times the overall CODE framework can be generic, but I saw it moreso as exploring what parts of PKM I can dive into more.
I really like your aesthetic choice, for the color palettes and for your vtube-character in general. It feels like you take all what I consider beautiful in my brain and implement it into your videos👏

I particularly got excited at the two recommended deep dive sources. THAT is what I am so hungry for - the principles of building a zettlekasten! The principles, methods, and techniques of building a "second brain"! Additionally, the metaphor of framing my notes as legos to enable building was incredibly useful. This is because one of my pain points has included trying to chunk so many of my ideas together into single notes as was the common practice of literally my entire life! Ha! Eureka!

yup, but if you want to actually transfer it into your own primary brain that's where making connections and spending the time to take conceptual notes comes in as practice. but if you're only wanting to take notes for future quick reference, then i'm still drying to dive into ai so you can spend less time organizing said notes so you can focus on working on your projects etc

This is so nice to have! It helps keep my thoughts organized on all thats happening on the app, but how to you get your dots colored on the graph? Ive seen videos where it says to tag it but when i type in the dot that is named the color doesnt show up :(

First thanks for making this content! Having recent'y switched from a similar note taking app I find these types of videos very useful in learning from other ppls paths. But what I also like is that you mention from where you got inspiration, in this case the books! 🙏🏼
I did actually buy taking smart notes and adopted the way of reading books in a way that i can write fleeting and literature notes so at least that part helped. The problem is that i feel like the zettelkasten principle is more fitting if you want to learn new things in particular. In my case (studying with given informations) it's not the right approach or maybe i am using ot wrongly?
@@M4XD4B0ZZ good point, i think having a hybrid of using zettelkasten for initially learning the topics so you actively process and map out the information through their relationships, then turning those notes into flashcards helps prepare for exams like i show in my obsidian for studying videos :)

you dont have **word** //word// to get the font.... just ctrl shift and the type you want. (when you're not a programmer yet you know more than programmers basics)

I had a question: I have applied the 80s neon theme and flicked translucent window on, the thing that seems to be an issue is that the body of my notes appears as an opaque purple box. Do you know how I can change it translucent like you have here?
you will have to add a custom css snippet to enable translucent mode by searching around online or in the discord 👍 you'll need to go to appearance and put it in your snippets folder - let me know if you have trouble finding it

How come the anime avatar isn't an identity? As Cowboy Biba's comment below as an example, the avatar is only a part of completing my galaxy and online aesthetic, and a form of branding I enjoy representing myself online with. What makes you think it is unpopular? And why does being popular matter in the first place? The 2nd most watched female twitch streamer was a vtuber, anime popularity is growing expontentially, and there's much less competition through this branding than there is through a generic self improvement or productivity youtuber. Obsidian is not open source, it just uses open source files structure and type (folders with text files in Markdown and the open sourced canvas). 🤔
btw the md stands for markdown, which is the format you write stuff in

obsidian has themes you can use, there's lots with the vaporwave/outrun aesthetic :) I personally like 80s neon the most out of them

you will have to add a custom css snippet to enable translucent mode by searching around online or in the discord 👍 you'll need to go to appearance and put it in your snippets folder - let me know if you have trouble finding it

Bro you seem like a super smart kid why are you using the anime avatar get a web cam and have an identity for your channel. I think you could get pretty popular if you had a stronger identity people could go back to because the anime stuff is a bit of a niche thats just how I look at it ig.
How come the anime avatar isn't an identity? As Cowboy Biba's comment below as an example, the avatar is only a part of completing my galaxy and online aesthetic, and a form of branding I enjoy representing myself online with. If I were to use my real webcam I don't have the physical environment to support the aesthetic I have, unlike vtubing where it's all fictional.
Are you personally turned off by the anime niche? What makes you think it is unpopular? And why does being popular matter in the first place? The 2nd most watched female twitch streamer was a vtuber, anime popularity is growing expontentially, and there's much less competition through this branding than there is through a generic self improvement or productivity youtuber.
I appreciate the concern and questions, but the only reason why I would consider using my real life identity is if I wanted to do real life videos :)
