That’s because people perspective has become and been made a lot more negative about the future. More people need to survive rather than dream. They are worried because they are afraid they can’t pay their bills. Thanks to incompetent leadership last decades.

Would love to know how much of his personal wealth was created from investing outside of the US. His activism in Asian has crippled the Midwest, especially along the Mississippi and Ohio River. His role in gutting the middle class should never be forgotten. I despise men like this who don’t work to improve the country that have them so much.

That was done by your politicians, tycoons, capitalism and conglomerates. They're all in on it. Perhaps you shouldn't be using a iPhone as it's built in China and were made from chips built in Taiwan. Perhaps you shouldn't buy any made in China products (there's a lot of them) most of all perhaps you shouldn't be singularly pointing blame on one person.

One of the greatest minds that ever existed. If the people in power shared his values, the world would be in a much better place. But again, people without an enormous ego, who would have the humility to stress test their thoughts, wouldn't crave political power in the first place.

Ray Dalio is no hero of mine, but definitely someone I admire.
A true Hero of our times in my opinion is Michael Burry.
His work ethic and morals are second to none.
He has been warning before the GFC and wanted to prevent it, nobody wanted to hear it.
The same happened with this inflation crisis.

    • @cicatrace

He's a great chart and macro analyst... But knowing Burry he's probably been short for years before the crash. Timing the markets is so hard to do, and it's hard to rely on the analysis of someone else because people tend to have a bias towards one side.
What I don't understand is after all that printing, the DXY is still showing strength. All the rest, all the hedges against this inflation (assets) are tanking. (except a few commodities and maybe housing) Is that because other countries are fleeing their fiat currencies and buying USD? I think all fiat money is doomed to fail over time... but we need it to drive growth and consumer spending. Nobody is ever gonna buy coffee with gold coins or bitcoins, so we need some sort of (stable but a bit inflationary) coin or a world-wide currency that wouldn't be owned or controlled by any specific gov. (funny enough I think that's what Musk was trying to do when he shilled Dogecoin)

I've never even consider Michael Burry to be a hero. Within living people I look to someone like Elon Musk, all time Einstein, Tesla, Newton, Euler, JP Morgan, Rockefeller, Washington, Lincoln, Edison, ect.

@@cicatrace Burry is a great investor too, but what they do and their stategy is quite different. Dalio studies are about understanding how the world economy works in order to be able to preserve and slowly grow wealth, whatever happends (like a war or a big recession). Burry is more focused in the short term and growing wealth.
