Hi Diff, I’m an old English Plumber. The bending machine had one missing part called a guide, or some say slide. It has the shape of the pipe on one side and a flat side that the adjusting wheel rides on. They come in different sizes to match the pipe. That’s why it has an adjusting wheel. As usual you engineered an answer for the problem. Well done and good health.
Diff I'm a 72 year old grandpa now but my favorite person during my entire life was my grandfather. He was a huge influence in my life but he passed away when I was just 17. The highest praise I could give you is you remind me of my grandfather. Thanks for you videos.
Diff, you featured my old "ice cream getting" truck a while back on a feedback Friday. I'm proud to say that is is now legally on the road as of yesterday. Your creativity and energy motivated me to get it done. Now, off to the ice cream shop with my grand daughters. Thank you and keep on building brother. Brendan from Northern Ontario, Canada.
I've to admit I despised I the slothead screws until I saw the video where Louis (tips from a shipwright) explained why they are irreplaceable on a ship.
That's really cool you did a great job with the fitting of the plastic canvas and it matches the green in the trucks paint. You could paint the brackets that black you used on the Renaulbugs chassis and the rod too. Nice sewing machine it's hard to find a good machine like that anymore. I can see who's going to be sewing the wife's seats now Take care buddy have a Lekka one.
Hey Div, About your wife knowing that you have absconded with a pair of "Her" scissors. I suspect you know your wrenches ( Spanners ) as well as she knows her tools and you would know if someone were to mess with them. I think you get the picture. That was a fine job of making a cargo cover. I agree with you on making pieces rather than buying new. Handmade ads a personal touch to any project. By reading some of the comments left by other viewers, it is apparent there are a lot of us who really enjoy your creative abilities. Enjoy your trip wherever you go.
Diff.... from a master canvas and heavy duty pvc products maker... may i say you have done a great job on your cover, however may i make one point, on the round of the frame and the tubes just above and below the round of the frame.... make the cover double thickness at that point as vibration will wear the cover out at those points, just a wide strip will do the job my friend, and if you are worried that the sewing holes will leak.... get a chunk of wax and rub the stitching with it, you can even use a hair dryer to melt the wax into the stitching afterward if you like.
Diff I always feel happy to see you loading a new video, and your humor is always a welcomed contribution. God bless you my brother, and keep up the good work you do!
Great job on the cover , may I suggest on 90 degrees cut corner meet is a weak point. If a tear starts in 90 degree corners, the wind tear all your hard work. I love your videos, great infomation. You solved the bender issue in excellent style. The fabric bed cover is almost as cool as the access door. You're full of clever solutions. Time in on the tools. By the way, whether you agree or not, it's a safe bet that your subscribers would say you are a Master of the Angle Grinder! 😂❤
Look at all of the awesome feedback... I have nothing to say that's not already been said. Awesome. By the way. I love the fact the stitching is not perfect.

Thank you so much for your clever ideas and endless talents you share with us all, all the time. I really appreciate you ✌🏻
I'm a bit older than you and so I like to do things as easy as possible and also like to "improve" stuff. I would try a grooved wheel to replace the flat one, it should make the bending easier. I would also mosidy if needed to put the back leg of the bender under one of the truck wheels to stop it moving, that way it's ecure but still portable. Like you, I love to refurbish and use the old time tools - they worked for the old guys, so should work for the new old guys. I made my canvas cover almost the same way. Thanks Div, take care of yourself.
So glad u did the round bar it's what I was thinking too! Might rattle.. maybe a bit of rubber hose pieces in the joints, if it does... Super good wook. So cool you made that yourself.
Hi Diff, glad to see you back to almost 100% active. Just an observation on that bender - there is a locating pin that goes through the frame and leg to stop it from folding in when you put pressure on it. Much like the pin used to hold down car bonnets.
DiFFY! another wonderful vid. You remind me of father. He also used to pinch my mothers sewing scissors. Give 'em back (mustn't upset Mrs Diff) What a pleasant funny informative ep. There's no limit to your expertise. Your old tools and appliances are serving you well and still in serviceable condition. I'm with you, boet things made back then were made to last. Lekker job Diff
Think you have to put pipe in bender with seal a special way. With seam. You need to think like a English wheel. Your bit needs to roll and have a convex. You need a scaffold bourd to Mount stand to. Detachable. Lekka Boet Lekka👍👍
Very nicely done my friend, the frame itself looks very sturdy and the cover is very heavy duty, very good job on the sewing, the use of the Velcro was a great idea, makes it very easy to remove and the side brackets will keep it very tight and keep it from flapping. Awesome engineering my brother! My wife was very appreciative of the shoutout to the “sisters “ too, she watches every video with me, she loves your wife’s Renobug. Have a great weekend and thanks for the video!
That looks almost professional 👍🏻👍🏻 where it touches the bend from the top to the side I think I would add a pad so it doesn’t wear through…. Look at the bulge at the middle frame. I think wind blowing through will ruffle it and wear it. 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent job Diff, you 're so ingenious, it looks great !!!! maybe you'll find some old aluminum tent poles to replace that side rod, and for the nitpick you could sew an extra layer canvas strapping on the inside where the middle rib pipe is for extra protection in case of rubbing..👍
Madame diff..I congratulate you on your perfect relaxation area haha 👍 ..the flathead screws are awesome as long as you have your favorite old screwdriver that works 😉

Great job Div ! That really does suit the truck. Have you thought about a piece in the front behind the cab to keep the weather from blowing in through the front ? 👍👌

If you use wing nuts on the canvas maybe put a spot of weld on the edge of the threads so you do not loose the wing nuts on long drives.

Great job Duff , turned out Awesome mate 😎😎🤘🤘
"I see that's the newest show off' toy'" Excellent, same thing I thought when I saw them popping up.
And pricey too!
Nit pik-- gap between cab and canvas when it rains or dust when moving. Buttt excellent job and provides privacy for your gear.
Yes, need to do something about that... ran out of material...
BS659 is 1955 British Standard for light weight copper pipe.
Super nicw truck. It has the look.
Thanks!
Hi Diff great to see you are back to your old self and your never ending ideas. So true old technology were made to last forever not like the shit we have today . You have so many good ideas, hope people are learning something from you Diff . Keep up your amazing work and God bless you always Diff
Thanks man! Old school rules!🙂
The curved top arches will keep water from pooling too :D
I love the way you handle all the hurdles that arise during a build. On the other side you make it look so easy and only experienced eyes know its not. Happy doing Div!
There should be a sliding saddle that fits between the roller & pipe
Hey Diff! I still use those slotted brass screws. I have a bin full I picked up at a surplus sale.
You must be an OG!😀
@@ratrodsafrica Ancient Of Days 😂👍
Outstanding work
Elegant work.
Great job Div ! That really does suit the truck. Have you thought about a piece in the front behind the cab to keep the weather from blowing in through the front ? 👍👌
Yes, I have. Still need to do something about it...😅
Nice job
Your backwoods engineering is amazing! The canvas camper top is a great addition...
Thanks! 😊
Diff became a member rather give to you then the kids lol
Thank you brother! Appreciate the support!
Hi
lekker build. My only gripe (?) is that those hold-down brackets stick out too far.
Other than that, Keep those classic wheels rolling!
Glad to see I'm not the only OG with a Janome. The stitching gives it character and a conversation piece or a challenge for a whiner to do better if they don't like the look (original from the forest engineer). LOL
Ah, another Madam then!😂
@@ratrodsafrica I feel slighted, mine came gender neutral w/Dear Customer.🤣
@@p.e.8149 🤣 Not old enough then🤣
@@ratrodsafrica I'll take that as a compliment, I haven't heard that in quite some time. The way they address may be a geographical thing, I'm in the US they want to play it safe, some people here are way too sensitive LMAO 😎
