How To Change Facebook Profile Picture Without Losing Likes

- If you change your Facebook profile picture it's best if you keep all your likes and comments. In this video, I walk you through the steps you can take to make sure you don't lose your likes and comments. Keep in mind, the key to this is to not upload a brand new photo as that will reset the likes and comments. Without an existing photo, Facebook will start over again and you won't be able to keep the same likes. Losing likes and comments can mean that when people view your Facebook profile picture it looks like you have fewer friends. You can always change the picture back to your old picture to restore the old likes and comments too.

I figured it out if u dont hav that option on top...select change profile pic. Go to albums..wen in albums..go to profile pics and select one of those ull keep all likes and comments. This drove me nuts for over a year now lol

When i go into profile pics (when in albums) it only gives option to make cover photo. Why doesn’t it say like back in the day “make profile pic”
@@saishasanchez6517 lol idk...I barely figured it out on my phone...but if u choose a pic in albums/profile pics...it shud save as ur profile pic and hav all the original likes and conments
@@saishasanchez6517 u have to click on ur actual profile pic first...then choose new profile pic..then u go to pictures then albums then profile pics
12 likes wow. probably the most likes I ever got lol I had to put my 2 cents in on this one because I struggled for over a year. I hated losing all my likes and comments everytime I changed a profile or cover pic.
This ONLY applies to pictures that were once your “profile picture.” You Cannot do this with a picture from your timeline that was previously posted and has a lot of likes. You will lose all likes and comment so NO this doesn’t help me!

What if the picture you want to make as a profile picture isn’t already uploaded as a profile picture but you want to upload the picture you already have uploaded on Facebook “uploads” as a profile picture? I tried to upload a picture I already have on my uploads/timeline as a profile picture & it didn’t keep the comments or likes

What if I don't have option make profile picture but instead only make cover photo?
You definitely should be able to change your profile picture. Make sure you're looking in an album that you uploaded the videos and they're not in the cover photo album. Alternatively, you can go to your profile and click on your profile picture and choose a picture from an existing album you've shared.

Instead of clicking View profile picture, click select profile picture instead. Then scroll to Profile picture album and click your desired photo. And thats it

You can use chrome then it has 3 dot on the upper side just open the word (desktop site) and click all the previous profile photo to make profile pic. It's working 101%

What did you tap on at 0.20 seconds to bring up the menu that allows you to view profile picture?
It's very frustrating, that you went to the bother of making a video to show how to change profile picture tland keep likes, and then not make the video clear to understand how to do it.
If you slowed down a bit and showed each step, it would be a lot easier to follow
y’all if “make profile picture” doesn’t pop up on the photo you want to use, it’s better to do this through a computer or safari!

Guys if it doesn’t pop up Go to select profile picture then go to uploads and select the photo if you put a caption it should look the same

It looks like this only works for for photos in your profile pictures album and no other albums. I tried posting from 'photos of you' and it's a brand new copy.
Well that's a bummer. I don't want to lose the likes a regular photo already has. Facebook should change that because it's just duplicating an old photo then. So lame but then again, so is facebook.
You know that wasn’t the case back then, but this update or whatever took that ability away to be honest, I tried different methods and using old profile pictures, and when I make it as profile picture again, it creates a new one instead of reusing it

Facebook took something simple and turned it to shit . I am glad it lost a bundle .

That tag that you mention on top of picture doesn’t always show up - I think it depends on how you open album or scroll through?! FB is pretty screwed in this department!

I used to be able to click on my profile pictures and then I was able to scroll through all of them I had once had up. Now, it's locked. How could I unlock it? I would like to have all of my 144 previous profile pictures viewable. I can still do that to my cover photo, but not profile picture? Why? Does anyone know where the setting is?

It will not work on iPhones. Log in from an android mobile and do this steps, thus u can keep ur likes and comments

I have a problem. I uploaded a video yesterday on Facebook and because I used iMovie to increase the volume a little bit. Everything sounded perfectly on the phone with the speakers and the headphones there was no distortion. But when I uploaded the video it sounds distorted in Facebook. Is there a way I can upload the video again without losing the comments and views? The same video if I lower the volume? Let me know as soon as possible because I would love to fix the problem of the distortion. But I don’t want to lose the views and comments.
