- Today, we are driving the 2022 SsangYong Musso XLV. Yes, this is the pickup truck from SsangYong motors, which is an automotive company from Korea focusing on producing pickup trucks and SUVs. And this 2022 Ssangyong Musso, as a facelift model, Ssangyong Musso has a completely redesigned grille, lower bumper design, and even much better-looking vertical LED fog lamp. Under the hood, this pickup truck still has the same 2.2L diesel engine making about 187hp and 309lb. ft of torque, engine mated to 6-speed automatic from Japanese supplier called Aisin. And this Musso came with a 4WD system. So, yes, this isn’t the Ford F-150, but I really wanted to share this experience and show you what its like to be driving a Korean pickup truck. I own a 2019 model (current shape, pre facelift), such a great ute, especially for the money. That 2.2 litre engine is not bad at all, and it also has the EXCELLENT 6-speed Aisin gearbox that is also found in the Hilux, D-MAX, BT-50 and Triton.
It's also good that SsangYong is shedding it's image for making ugly cars, because this, as well as the pre-facelift Musso/Rexton are quite good looking vehicles.
I hope SsangYong Motors gets out of financial trouble, because they make great (and extremely underrated) cars.

I never heard of this brand or truck, that's why I like this channel though, seeing different things then what we get in the US. I think if this was imported to the US it might do quite well, reminds me of the new Ford Maverick.

I suggested the Musso to my parents for their next car. Fantastic value for money, the 2.2 diesel has great reviews from owners and can't go wrong with that transmission. The interior has great features not seen in many utes.
They test drove one and bought one! Can't wait to have a good look at it when they take delivery in December.

This color is really nice and the front redesign is just a complete success. Looks so much better now. Also for this class of pickup size you cannot find a bigger bed than Khan.
Yes, i like the color, Amazonia Green, Army color, but it goes well with this SsangYong Musso design. And also love the red skid plate, goes well with the design.
The cornering speed and the noise of the tires are hilarious. Lol
They actually tried to cheat fitting those tires on the car, thinking that you were going to off road it.

Thank you Charlie, I’m really impressed. When you were turning right at high speed, even I was leaning to the right, hoping we wouldn’t get loose. That is much nicer grip than I get on my truck, and I’m only getting 8 miles per gallon, 23 on that is petty good. I wonder if anyone will come up with lift kits for that truck… and then there goes the good gas mileage. Thank you for sharing, brother.

SsangYong Musso.. it's years since i have actually seen one.. it looks good like a cross between a santa-fe and a Titan.. the last one i remember had a silky smooth diesel which u couldn't even tell it was a diesel to how quiet and smooth it was...

I have a petrol 2012 Actyon and it takes me everywhere in the high Andes (where I live) ... mind you 30% of the time I’m on dirt roads ... I’ve never had a problem with my SsangYong getting close to 10 years and 100k ... I absolutely love it, amazing long lasting quality!

I actually drove the pre face-lift tonight & I must say quite impressed with the build quality & options you get, the power was quite shocking my only complaint was that you could feel every small imperfection on the road, as our roads in cyprus are not the best of quality. Value for money double cab, that's how I would sum it up.

Actually it’s quite a nice Ute, I was seriously considering this vehicle at one stage. However the thought of bankruptcy and not able to access service / parts and warranty casts a shadow over the Brand.

I have one of these in Australia. I love it. The logo on the front badge is different. They are very under rated. It is great Korean quality and there is nothing else with such value v features. Where do you get the tray under the rear seat from? They don't come with that option here.

Interesting, seems like a competent nice truck, would likely do well in many places around the world. American trucks are just too well established for most other makes to try entering the market

I think it's less of establish more of chicken tax. Unless that car built in North America it not going to happen it will make that truck more expensive and out of price range. And considering we have utes coming out it's pretty much people will flock to that.

Wished they sold this in the USA with a Genesis V6. My wife and I are looking for a midsized truck here and this truck looks nice. But it seems we might have to settle for maybe the Honda Ridgeline. If Hyundai made a truck like this, it would be a no brainer! LOL!

Nice very masculin look, its going to look awesome with a few cosmetic modification, its the kind of look that ford truck have, that can easily be moded to look much much more brutish and powerful. This is way better compare to their old truck the actyon, if that can be considered as a truck.

Truck looks nice, but on the small size, it is on scale with the old Ford Ranger or Nissan Frontier. I am disappointed to see it not being a EV.

Suffers from the same major issue as the rest of the pick-up trucks in asia . The dreaded 2. Something 4 cylinder diesel engines . I own a 2018 navara vl and a 2019 ranger raptor in the Philippines and both are painfully slow unfortunately there is no other engine options .
Just this year the F150 became available inthe Philippines. The 4 cylinder engine work more then necessary even with 1/4 of the payload especially when going up hills. I dont like either of my pickups and i cant wait for the day ford ,toyota,nissan .... Decides to introduce other more powerful engine options in the Philippines
