Watch from 19:33 to 20:07 It shows in the movie that young kaylie sees her mom in the mirror and approaches to hug her and her mom is not a threat in that scene. They both actually hug and it doesn't show kaylie movie away from her mother after hugging and she's still there. And then the scene comes where it shows that grown-up Tim is sitting in front of the mirror when he decides to set the timer to zero as to destroy that mirror. And it happens to be his sister (grown-up Kaylie) in front of that mirror who dies because of it. Putting these two scenes together, it was not the mirror who put Kaylie in front of it out of nowhere put just playing with the minds. Yes. As young Kaylie didn't move away from her mother after hugging her, the same was happening in the present with the grown-ups. Kaylie was already there in front of the mirror. The mirror just tricked Tim's mind into not seeing her as that's why he turns the dial to zero and Kaylie dies right in front of the mirror. This is some game being played with the past and the present and tricking the minds into it.
