one thing i didnt notice the first time was at the end when she was looking at the tissues and smiling. they established in the culture festival episode she asks him to help because he has good handwriting so it establishes she knows his hand writing and she knows he left the tissues because she recognized the his handwriting

Interesting theory about the eating ... wrong but still interesting. Yamada is eating everywhere, all the time, not just in school... the reason for hiding it, it's revealed pretty soon.
A teensy bit of background info you won’t get from the anime: Yamada was scouted for her modeling career while out with her mom in Shibuya, in 2014/2015. The series takes place in 2019 (episode 1 is “late June”). So she’s been modeling for approximately four years, when she was 10 or 11.

You know, having 1 episode a week is fine and all but it doesn't work that well when you end up forgetting a bunch each week. For example, the fact that at the very least her friends know that she snacks a lot.
I don't think is so much thay they forget as much as they have the tendency of, basicallu, making up an entire different show in their minds as they watch it
Daly, I gave up on these two dudes retaining previously known info multiple series ago. I will say, accepting that they will get so much wrong or forget important details makes their victories really rewarding.
The discussions the bros have is one of my favorite parts of the channel, but this definitely feels like its going to be a case of over thinking and over analyzing the characters in this anime. Like, I hate this saying but it really isn't as deep as they are making it out to be, especially Anna's character. Still love the discussions though
It doesn’t hurt anything. For every thing they get wrong, they’re getting a lot right. It’s fun to see them speculate, and I’ve even gotten a few interesting angles I hadn’t considered before from their breakdowns, even if I don’t necessarily buy into them.

I just worry that when they do meet characters like Yamada's mom they will immediately assume the worst and misunderstand the character dynamics. Not a serious concern or indictment of them, just a little worry

It's been a while since I've watched season 1 but where did they get this idea that her mom is forcing her to be a model? Or is that just another of their baseless assumptions they interject into every anime they watch?
It's only episode 3 so we don't have any other information... and at first her mother seems very strict. Yamada is crying over that shoot while talking with her mom, that seems to indicate pressure. Anyway, it's just a theory from them.
It's a theory they've come up with because Yamada started crying and apologizing profusely when she was talking to her mom on the phone about the photoshoot, as though she was scared her mom would be mad at her. Typically if you have good parents you don't need to worry about them getting angry when you get injured, especially if it wasn't really your fault, so crying in that situation and at that age is a bit odd. So SoS theorized that she was crying because there's some problem relating to her mom and her modelling. In fairness, they're not the first reactors that I've seen come to a similar conclusion - I've seen a few other people guess that her mom's really strict after watching that scene too. They just don't go as in-depth with their theories as SoS are wont to do.
