Im from Iowa and was lucky enough to have found them around this time. This actually took place on my 16th birthday. What a present it would have been to be there. I watch this video a lot. 9k views and counting....
First time I saw Tripping Daisy @Rick’s place Denton. Tim hung out with me & my best friend upstairs during the entire opening act. It was the greatest night ever!
Thank you so much for posting. I discovered Tripping Daisy when I was 16 or 17...Took a ride with friends on my birthday which is 4/20. Wound up in Denton from Dallas at the Frye Street Fair. Guess who was headlining? Tripping Daisy Amazing experience. I'm' now 40. I'll never forget the impact that band had on me. I can still hear the music they'd be creating to this day =)
The first time I saw TD was the 97 Uranus awards. I thought they’re were great live. I didn’t have much Experience listening to their music. I saw a full set from them at Emo’s in Austin and I was blown away. That was six days prior to this performance. I really wish I had known them better back then. It’s been nice getting to know them now, musically anyway.
Wes is rocking the Matthew McConaughey look, and is totally thinking, "just been listening to the set and i think it's going alright alright alright...."
can't believe they went from playing venues, thousands of people to freaking CD Warehouse with looks like 60 people if that,,,so sad,,,in 1993 they were awesome, in 1997 still awesome I thought, guess I was in minority looks like. I love them. lead singer unique sound. and what happened to the lead singers look in 4 yrs? his hair and clothes in here is so plain compared to past...wow. oh well thanks for posting this gem!!!! this group came out when I was in high school, so they r from my Gen X ! Awesomeness!!
oh, don't feel bad! this was just a promo instore appearance with a stripped down equipment arrangement. they played a huge, sold out gig that night...
This is Time Capsule tour period, right? Saw this at the Impala in Fort Worth. So great to here these "Jesus" songs prior to recording. And to hear "Numb Numb Song" again makes me happy.
This is fantastic! Any idea what brand/type of guitar Wes is playing here - the blue hagstrom looking one? I never got to see them live but have always been a fan of their songwriting and guitar interplay.

To this day I still listen to these guys, I can't believe it's already been nearly 30 years.
Pretty cool of Tim to go around shaking hands and thanking everyone for being there before they start playing.

He did the same thing in NYC for this tour

This is so so good. Can't get enough Tripping Daisy.
and Newton Tenderfoot walking the room and shaking everyone's hand is so classy.
Thanks for posting this. I saw them in Bryan, TX that same summer. They played a short set at a music store before playing at a venue that night

and he is absolutely right about The Tomorrowpeople. They were awesome.
Oh yes! 🤘
this version of pillar is much better than the studio version imo
That last song is fucking PERFECT. As much as I love the last 2 albums and wouldn’t change a thing on them, I wish I had that song somewhere too.
Thank you so much for posting this!!!!!!!!!!
This is 🔥🔥🔥 thank you
Hopefully the songs that didn't make an album get released someday. Really like the last song.

mbclaxton78 Tim always seems like a real nice guy, and you can tell he really loves his audience here. And yes, this is around the Time Capsule era..
Geeareohdoubleyou- cant wait to see them in may 2017
this version of Geeareohdoublyou is unbearable lol. Wes's part just doesn't fit at all.
@@oliverjason it was less than a week or two old. give 'em a break :)
@@josephkyle1557 i should give them a break. I probably hurt their feelings.
I saw them two weeks ago @ the Kessler
You can hear The Spree in this.

That’s not a Hagstrom?
@@djefferson5669 I think it's a Hagstrom III
Wes looks like such a bad ass..........like "kneel before us you peasants, I am a rock god"
Tim looks so young Haha
Mega!
What's the song at 22:54?
just a little improv number. that's what they did a lot of live.
What’s Caillou doing there
