Just came across your channel while doing some research on Ovcharka diets. So glad to find someone actually showing what they do. I'm happy you're showing your journey with Tyr, he's beautiful and the videos are great information.
thanks a lot ryan. we have got another 5 things video coming tomorrow. if there is anything you are ever curious about, just ask... ill be happy to address it in video or on comments
Thanks. He's a sweety. We are getting ready for bed and he is laying on my feet watching tv right now. Oh and fyi, we have started adding fish into his diet. Approximately 2 meals per week are just fish.
@@tyrtheovcharka9771 do you have a preference in fish type? Like salmon? We have access to fresh trout and salmon so that would be an easy addition to his diet. Currently he is on the same kibble from the breeder, have implemented freeze dried raw and slowly want to transition him over. We also have access to elk and deer, still doing research on raw. When did you start a raw diet with tyr may I ask?
I got tyr when he was 5 weeks 6 days old (normally too young but he was huge and part of 13 pup litter. Mom was getting drained) anyways.... I started him on a raw/kibble mix day one. By 3 months old, he was on his current diet. Of course amounts have grown. I use salmon but any deboned fish would be fine. Elk and deer are very lean meat. As a puppy these guys need a high fat content. Closer to 2:1 fat to protein. As long as he is getting the right fat in his diet, the rest is all good. I also recommend dyne as an additive to the food. It can help with the fat content of your meat (and it smells really good!)
Thanks. New video tomorrow. Just fyi, he is up to 4lbs of meat per day now. So... raw diet is best but can be a lot financially. I know týr is about 25% of our weekly food budget.
the father had four months old was 135 lbs. a normal Pitbull lives its entire life in a 36-in crate the farther outgrew it I had to replace it that day
We get strange looks at the store. People always ask if we are having a barbeque because of all the meat in our cart. I usually just say yes... the looks get really weird when I'm honest and say it's for the dog.
believe it or not, the homemade meals come out to just about the same price as canned food if you look for the meat that is discounted because its 1 day before its freeze by date. we spent several months freezing meat like that before we got tyr.... and of course, rice is pretty cheap no matter how you buy it!
@@joeshaver9790 I have always fed my dogs on fresh foods with vegetables. My mother and grandmother did it and too. It is a good diet and works out less money than that tinned stuff and they don't suffer with rotten teeth when they are older either.
Hi Joe, I enjoy watching your baby, I recently had 2 ovcharka pups flown from the Ukraine and Transylvania, Romania, I have done 2 years of research on this breed, they are delightful, always open to new information and ideas that other ovcharka owners have. I also am amazed at the behavior and temperament similarities Tyr has to my 2 babies, will keep watching, don't know anyone in the US with this breed, I'm in southern Mn, I see you are in Tn, too bad we aren't closer,
Hey thank you very much. We socialize týr all the time. Trying to keep him in good temper. There are a few co's around here but not many. Most have never even heard of them. Any questions, or videos you want to see, just ask. We are always here!!
My puppies ate Free Range Chicken leg quarters. being dog me gave him enough fat that between their shoulder blades normally that has dandruff and it's dry like pine needles was like cotton
How much does it cost to feed this beautiful dog? Especially when he will be an adult dog? Just a rough estimate would do. I would most definitely spend as much money as needed to feed my dog. Great video. Thanks.
I watched your video to see your puppy. I spent 6:23 minutes out of my life watching your video waiting for the puppy to show up...only saw him for about 3 precious seconds...booooo!
Seriously. You picked one of maybe 3 videos where the camera isn't on him constantly... someone asked what I fed týr so I showed them... If you don't like looking at me... and I can't blame you for that.... avoid this video and the 3 "5 things" videos.
@@tyrtheovcharka9771 : Chill out bro, it's my weird way of saying I really luv your pup and your videos. I subscribed and give your vids thumbs up. Thanks for the info of where you got your baby pup...I am seriously considering getting one too...😊
That's one lucky puppy! He eats better than I do...
i had sugar gliders that did that...got rid of sugar gliders.

Your Good to the Puppy. I bred a special bloodline of dogs. All White XXXL American Pitbulls. My One of the last females was 5'8 and 180 lbs
the father had four months old was 135 lbs. a normal Pitbull lives its entire life in a 36-in crate the farther outgrew it I had to replace it that day
That dog eats about twice as much as I do a day.

That’s a nice meal. For how long is going to eat “homemade meals”?
Until I'm dead or dad is broke...

Do you ever cook meat for Tyr?
not usually.... thats not to say he dosent eat meat i cooked for myself.... that dog will do backflips for chicken taquitos.
My puppies ate Free Range Chicken leg quarters. being dog me gave him enough fat that between their shoulder blades normally that has dandruff and it's dry like pine needles was like cotton
How much should a raw diet cost each month
I'd also you feed them even like a can of vegetables that I had or leftover stuff in the refrigerator fruit and vegetables

Did you say that he eats four meals like that per day or did I get that wrong?
What type of dog food do you prefer

What is the difference between a boy Caucasian and. Girl Caucasian?
You make it look like work to feed and raise the Caucasian, l love the bread, but it would have to be outside and feed like a dog.
