Dude your a fucking Legend! Saved me alot of hassle and money taking it to the mechanic! CHEERS! I ended up replacing both battery and relay starter, static clicking noise came from startr relay, but wasnt so sure if the battery was also the issue, did it on my m109r 2013

4 weeks old. Did you try returning it and ask for a replacement under warrant? It may have just been a one off issue with that battery!

How did you go long term. Did the new acid battery keep charging ok?

That's good information, but you need to learn a couple of things. As previously mentioned, CCA stands for cold cranking amps. Also, look up how to change a battery. You never tighten or loosen the positive side with the negative side connected because if you hit ground you could spark and blow up the battery. You also need to tighten it up with more than a screwdriver. I'm not saying put the hulk on it, but it just won't be tight enough to be reliable just using a screwdriver.

So it can be battery? So clicking sound comes on its own? Even if key is not in ignition?

What happens is the low power of the battery causes the starter relay to click in and out, most often not enough charge in the battery to wind the motor over, so the relay disengages .
Always do the simple checks to avoid costly mistakes.
Trying continuously to start it just drags power out until there is not enough to even activate the starter relay.
These are fairly modern bikes with good electrics.
1st. Charge the battery up fully and try to start the bike.
2nd. It doesn't start after charging the battery. To confirm If the battery is weak, connect jumper cables to bike (while there is some charge in the battery) and see if it starts. If it then starts, well, there is your answer, battery is just too weak and or too old. Unless it has just lost power from sitting for a period of time and the battery will charge up again after a good run.
This is pretty common if you do not ride regularly because of weather conditions or you may have more than 1 bike too.

I just replaced my starter. It was dragging and getting to the point. That it would turn over at all. The techs at the shop. Weren't sure if it was the starter. I gave them a new starter and relay. Now the problem is all gone.
