Would be so interisting to know how much weight you are saving with the foam and fiberglass option over what was there originally. How many layers of glass you going to put on those stringers and bulkheads? The fuel saving and acceleration with those two 40's will most likely be noticably improved with the weight savings. Just a little bit of weight saving on my rib with the twin mariner 30's is noticable.

im sorry i didnt take the boat to be weighed before i started. i knew the boat was very heavy when i started snapping winch roped putting the boat on the trailer. im sure its going to be a few hundred kgs lighted. i took out well over 400kgs of rotten wood and foam. thats excluding the water that was trapped between the ribs.
if i can save on fuel that will be a big win for me. i cant really complain about fuel consumption tho those old 40 are not to heavy on fuel.
im going to be laminating 2 layers of 450 chop strand both sides of the ribs and bulkheads. because im putting fish hatches in the floor ill be adding a few more ribs to compensate.

@@fishingPLZ Sounds good! I had to sea trial a few different prop sizes as the folks here dont know how two outboards work together. They said 11 pitch props for my two 30's and I fou d that they were screaming their tits off at 6200 rpm so I could never run them wot. I'm running 14pitch props now and they are still screaming at 5600rpm. You would probably need to up your pitch after all this weight reduction.. if you can it saves a heck of a lot of gas at cruising speed 😁

      How's it.
I'll have to see how it goes once in done. I thinkni have 12 pitch props at the moment. I unfortunately done have Rev counter but I can hear if they reving to high. I generally cruze 35kmh. Full throttles about 50kmh on the gps in the river. Hope the propeller will be ok. Not a cheap excuse to change them.
