Watching Tim finally realize what Geoff is really like is soooooooooooooo satisfying. It's like finally Tim sees Geoff like everyone else seed Geoff. Watching Geoff for the next couple of weeks or however long is gonna be really satisfying. I really wanted to just get Tim and watch all the clips of Geoff to see what Geoff is really like. Like I just wanted to be the one who goes to the police with all of the clips needed to bring Geoff down and send him to prison.
"Don't you dare forgive me and turn this onto me!" Geoff will manipulate and gaslight anyone if it serves his own aims. Thank goodness Tim can finally see how he operates and call him out on it, and what a pity Yasmeen couldn't/wouldn't see it until it was too late.

Would there be anything in the hard drive? Can they use the evidence if Sally took the laptop without permission? Will Tim find his mother ? (get a DNA test Tim, your dad can't argue that) All will be revealed.
The cctv footage probably would be still on the hard drive because when you delete something it is still there until something gets written over it but since Sally took the laptop without Geoff's permission it's not clear whether or not they could use what's on there as evidence that's probably why the police had to let him go.
If the police can keep the laptop they can get technicians to retrieve footage from the hard drive. However because the laptop was obtained illegally any footage retrieved cannot be used in court. Sounds ridiculous to me but that's the law. The detectives need to get a warrant but meanwhile slimy Geoff will have time to copy innocent files to a new laptop & completely destroy the other one. The whole investigation has been a car crash. It wouldn't happen in real life. Tim & Sally can order a full birth certificate online which will show his birth mothers name. As for DNA they'll need a sample from Elaine/Phillipa or her hairbrush in her house.
If you look back at the episode when Elaine visits the office you can see that all she writes down is her phone number. She didn't have time to write down her address & she wouldn't anyway because she changed her name & her address was a secret in case Geoff was told. Now her mobile sim was put down the drain. Unless she wrote down her home number & Tim immediately recognised it as a Bolton prefix. However he said I've had her address for weeks but play back the clip & you will see she says I'll give you my number. Now surely she would have written down the mobile as she wanted to meet up & talk while in the area. More anomalies!! Do different people write each episode & not liaise or look back at story lines?
She might've just been a fast writer. I was constantly getting yapped at by my English teacher when reading what I wrote from a prompt with the short time given bc she didn't believe I could write that much with that little time.

As we now know that Tim had her address as she wrote her phone no on the back of an envelope addressed to her could Geoff have found out her addresss in an off screen chat with his son & arranged her kidnap until the trial is over. Could there have been something written in her phone that he saw before he threw away the sim card or a useful phone number. He's so evil & devious I'm sure he found out something about her whereabouts unless she was so frightened she ran away to stay with her brother. Perhaps the writers haven't decided yet.!!

They can't really arrest him for bullying Yasmeen and filming it unfortunately. Thats not a crime in its self. Though it certainly calls into question his version of events and proves that he is capable of abusing people and now that Tim and Faye have seen what Geoff is really like behind closed doors they will give a very different account of him in court!
