Im a beginner, am i correct in assuming fins? is basically a mandatory for body boarders? and is a Morey 44 gonna hold a 6ft 250lb man?

      Hi @daveymaxx-sl7ik
Yes, it's a lot easier with fins to take the wave, getting to the peak etc.
A 44" board is definitely what you need 😉

Wow. I'm out of the loop. Morey and bz now are one company?

Yes, we have the European and Australian distribution for the both brands.

morey sold to mattel after stewart left along time ago. then bobby sold bz a little while after the last pro team left. both brands fell into the corp boogie abyss. so the shapers left because morey and bz went overseas to china and it all kinda fell apart after that. now i ride boards made in indonesia shaped custom for me by mez used to shape my custom toobs boards in california. so my favorite boards atm are NMD / VS / PRIDE. i also have a brand new mach 7ss and bz battail i barely ride. Id say pride radial flex realest single to double concave with double mesh is the best board atm

@@ryancuda45 MEAN! yeah I’m from Hawaii and was in the scene from late 80s-early 2000s. I remember Toobs! Was one of the smaller brands trying for break out of the whole morey-bz-wave rebel dominance. But Toobs was the shit! I been just reliving my youth watching these videos, tripping out seeing how the sport has progressed. Mahalos for the reply!

I wonder if bodyboarders realise how ungraceful they look doing kooky looking airs, spins, rolls, etc. I'm a body boarder myself. I ride strictly prone and go for the biggest, gnarliest, deepest pits every time. That ain't clumsy looking.

Thanks for your comment. We love big waves as well, but in small conditions we find it funny to try something else :) Most importantly, we have fun!

@legacybodyboarding Personally speaking, I like bodyboarding small waves as well (if their fast, hollow & gnarly). I don't believe bodyboards are meant for "tricks" (that's the domain of modern shortboards 😁). Having "fun" is ok, but I like heavy fun. If the waves aren't spitting, killer barrels, I pretty much don't bother & I switch to stand up boards 🤣🤙

@@scottfowler830 you're right. Bodyboarding is just at its best in Slabs, barreling or wedging waves.
