I have nothing against a Latina Lagoona , However they could have still kept her Australian but delved more into giving her aboriginal roots by making her a native Australian. It's like the crew automatically assumed any Australian girl is "white" , did they not think having an Australian was good enoughrepresentation? which is weird since they worked with a company to make their dolls more inclusive? This is why sometimes instead of changing a characters race, companies should make new characters with the race they want to depict. Especially with Monster High as its character's are already pretty diverse
In g1 she was technically bi-racial already cuz her mother was a sea nymph which are Greek and her father was most likely a bunyip which is an Australian sea monster

I'm impressed that they filmed the movie in a month, and we finally understand why they look pretty different from the dolls. They still look great and I love that the outfits are very suitable for the movie.
the second i heard "filmed in an old insane asylum i immediatley knew it was filmed locally. so many things have been filmed at River view hospital in port coquitlam east of vancouver like deadpool (both), grave encounters, jenifers body, final destination 2, halloween ressurection, many supernatural episodes, riverdale episodes, the outside of the building is also publicly accesible and really cool for photos

Seeing the actors have fun and seem to be so passionate about the movie makes me wonder how people could let out their anger on them over the reboot. I’m glad they all agreed to be in the sequel, despite some miscasting in terms of representation.
I don't like what the reboot did because I'm and old fan of the og but I do agree that harassing the actors is stupid it's not their fault that monster high reboot changed things there just hired for the job.

Man, it was weird to watch this immediately as I was finishing The Mummy on my Halloween binge. Kinda weird that they super softened this reboot (I’m surprised they literally got away with murder), but making Cleo more humanoid than ever implies she had to suck a few treasure hunters dry to get that way. And Jackson/Holt absolutely should’ve been the main character, or at least actually here instead of being chopped up and their traits redistributed to other characters. Komos doesn’t look very old, I could believe he had a teenage brother. And while I’ve been totally behind NB Frankie from the start, FRANKIE STEIN not being a Frankenstein anymore is unforgivable, Freaky Fusion literally makes me tear up every time. They do realize the original story and concept is public domain, right? Our Mother of Science Fiction’s been dead for ages. The studio can only claim Karloff’s particular design.

I can't remember the specifics but there is a reason why they're not Frankenstein's child, I think its something like universal has rights to A Frankenstein character that could interfere with monster high depicting the character. Also the old Jackson idea is why I hate concepts, they're always better than the final product

I think it's interesting that Eddie Hyde was killed in Pittsburgh, specifically. Pittsburgh is the home of legendary horror director George Romero.His movies Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead were filmed there, and I believe part of Day of the Dead was filmed there, too. There have been several horror films filmed in Pittsburgh, and it's also the home of horror sfx legend Tom Savini. So I definitely think making Pittsburgh the place where Eddie Hyde was killed was intentional. And even though Jackson and Holt weren't in the movie, the new animated show doesn't follow it completely, so there's still a chance of them coming back. As long as I can have them and Operetta back, anything else is gravy.
I think the makeup and looks of the movie aren't that bad considering is Nickelodeon and their budget is lower, but my god seeing Cleo without blue eyes makes me realize the real problem in the costuming is the contacts -

Although this doesn't pay too much attention to the origins of the Kobold , Sometimes Kobolds are presented as dog like races (mostly in Japanese media/ JRPGS from what i could find) due to the original DND; even though they cut this, a dog-lizard would be a cute interpretation i think
It would have been so amazing and cute if Ghoulia kept just making zombie noises & used ASL & had an interpreter ex Cleo bc they're besties. Cleo learned asl so she can get close with ghoulia & became an interpreter all in support of her friend. It may seem a tad out of character,but this is a new version,and even though Cleo is a bit mean I can see her wanting to be nice again especially since it is ghoulia.
I actually really liked the movie! It brought me back to being 10 years old and finding MH for the first time and I’m excited for a new generation of kids to feel the same way! One thing that made me happy was that in the graveyard scene, I heard Cleo say ''Oh my ra'' which she used to say in gen 1 all the time!
