VERY underrated song! In my opinion, this is the best song on Bouncing off the Satellites, one of their best songs ever and way better than Love Shack. They should have released this as a single instead of Summer of Love and Girl From Ipanema Goes to Greenland. Summer of Love is great but I think Girl was an odd choice.
Well, there’s no denying that Girl is immediate and stands out, but yes this an underrated gorgeous gem and would’ve been a lovely single along with the others with videos for Summer and this. Perhaps all 3 may’ve been released properly under different circumstances, but I’m just happy to have it all the same
This is my favorite B-52's song. I wish I could have heard it live before Keith stopped touring with the band. Nevertheless, I'm glad I get to see Cindy singing it here. Thanks for sharing this video:-)
Also random thing about the bouncing album, I was surprised to find out that alot of fans thought it was Fred doing back up vocals on this and Ain't it a shame. It is actually Ricky though. He was really gaining insight on how to write for Cindy's voice specifically. And he harmonizes with her just as well as Kate. So cool to have your brother write and sing with you on such classic songs. No disrespect to the carpenters or white stripes lol
Holy crap!!! Was this in NYC?? If so, I was there!! I remember her singing this and DEFINITELY remember that wig!! I went up to her after and told her how great she sounded.
Does anyone know what year this is from. She has the wig from future generation video, she still sounds young enough ( I mean that respectfully) to maybe have it been from around the release of Bouncing . But I'm assuming it's probably after Ricky's passing but before cosmic thing?
Anyone...when was this filmed?? I thought it was the mid-80s because of the video quality, but wasn't Wigstock just 8-9 years ago? Also, she used to wear that cage thing on her head in the early days, so I"m puzzled. Anyone?
What a voice! My favorite song. I wish Ricky was here to see how beautiful his sister sounded. He was very talented. He is missed!! ❤😢❤
That song puts me in a good mood.

Hugh Simon don't forget Soundtrack to a Nude Beach!!

Incredibly beautiful song.
I agree and the video for "girl...." was not great.
LOVE! This is probably my favorite B-52's song ever.

1989! :)
@@RECORDPAUSEPLAY That's so awesome--That's when I saw them on the Love Shack tour. Thanks!
Is she lip syncing to the original recording? I guess not, but it sounds so much like it.....
singing over it (and nailing it and harmonizing with herself)
th-cam.com/video/YXpSggG20DM/w-d-xo.html mystery solved😊 now we know from the intro in this other video that Cindy's performance here is from 86
