This song touches me deeply.... every time when I listen it I feel joy and God's presence in me...What this song say help me to stand in the promises of Jesus to my life..
I can't believe I've never heard this version until now! It's even better than the album version cause it's just Mike's amazing voice and his guitar. AMAZING!
I'll probably get hated on for this, but I listen to/like this song because I can relate it to my fiance and I. I don't hear it as a christian song, about god. He's my beloved, and I am his.
No hate here! If I get married, I'd love this song to be some part of the celebration too. Marriage with a human being mirrors God's relationship with the church
@MiuMiu118. You may never see this, but in case you do, it's no strange thing that you hear it that way. The reality of this song, and the scriptures it is taken from, is that God uses images and language we can intimately understand to communicate His truths to us. The love you feel for your beloved, and the love he feels in return, is a wonderful thing. But even that love pales in comparison to the one who is Love Himself. The powerful and profound mystery of the gospel is that God loves you, and longs to reconcile you to Himself. He gives us images to help us understand this kind of love He has for us. It's like a father running to greet his son the moment he sees him coming back home, regardless of the hurt his son caused him or what he has done while he was gone. Or a groom on his wedding day, eager to be united with his wife. Sin separates us from God; it's those "lovers that won't satisfy" from the song that all of us chase after. Jesus died on the cross for those us so that we could be free from the bounds of those sins, and be alive to God again. And he rose to life to show that death had no hold over him, and that in him, we too have hope of life in him. If you read this and feel Jesus calling to you, know that you can pray and be saved, too.
Miu- the song lyrics are pulled straight from the Bible! The lyrics are referencing the church (the bride of Christ) As believers, we’ll be reunited with our Savior, Jesus, when he returns for his church.
A love song from God; I can only imagine...🕊

MiuMiu118. That is pulled right out of the bible. I felt the same when i 1st heard it. So i looked. :)
Oh okay. But let's honour the composer and take the song in context, and the context is Christ and His Bride (the Church).
