"He's more concerned with ETs than impressing the ladies"...I love the backstory you create with your models. I do the same thing and it's part of the fun for me in modeling.
I absolutely love this kit. I built one when i was a kid. I just picked up another one and can't wait to get started. Your build turned out great and it shows that you really enjoyed this kit.
Just added this kit to the stash. It will be a tribute to my late Uncle Greg. We built this same kit forty plus years ago in the guise of the Rock 'n' Roller.
I built this car. I left it white using my own decals. It’s one of my favorites now. I don’t trust myself with painting so I ordered some decals specifically for the 57. I fabricated a license plate frame and put a vintage California plate on it too.
Outstanding work! The finish is great and I really like the dull coat over the chrome as it gives the chrome a more realistic sheen. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi,yep i built this car in jr high school ,i placed it in my jr high model car contest.if im not mistaken mine was molded in red.ben many moon's ago, great work chris and the tips i love that guys like you are bringing this hobbie back.thanks😀
Yes David King that was one of MPCs Teisdue of this Spirit of 57 box Art In ,75/76 it's Original issue it was molded in White. Mine was on 77 Later yeice teisdued both in Red plastic. One of those had Tresded Rest tires instead of Dlicks but Same width as Dlicks It also Had Deep n zlShsllow Super Nice Detailed Chrome Wire Wheels in the kit. zi was foesspoinyed tiie teiddue Didn't haclve them in it There also was a zBlsck molded zverdion ,' Different box Art that had side pipes that were used at same time as Heades. Those stent in this version either
@@rickbeam2325 oh ok yes,boy sure ben along time ago.it was a fun model to build.i was in 7th grade in 77,i remember looking at all the models in the show cases, and can rember some one had built the 116 scale super charger by mpc.with the gold stripes on it.thanks for the info rick.
Love this kit i had this one and the black one when i was a kid got a whole case of these nice build buddy can't wait to do one myself putting the stock quarter panels in mine going to tub it so the slicks fit under it
Love your builds, had to buy this one after watching you, lol. I can't thank you enough, I have learned so much watching your videos. I brush Future floor polish on all my models now, just one of your excellent tips.
This Was Truly one of Very Few Kits I built As A Teen Box Stock in Practas "Sapphire Blue" Metallic (Testors bought out Practa so Testors still had it Exact Same Mix) I Hand Did all Side trim.in Bright Gold I left it with no Decals As "Street Freak," which was the Fad of the Late 60s & Early 70s. Taking a Once Super Hot Race only Gasser Drag Car n toning it Down with Steeetable Cam n Under Driving the Blower for slightly less outpot but the Extreme Cool Factor Round 2 Has Given us a Truly Awesome Kit Reissue Here !! Even the Beginning Builder Can have a Excellent Result Especially When Care is used for the Flip nose assembly (I asseble it slightly Different on it from how you did n I'd recommend it be done my way for beginner to Ensure nose function ) Round 2 Definitely Heard the Modeler Crowd. They Wanted Those Wheels. I can't Recall Any Other Kit having them. Although they Look Decent they Were not My Favorite Mags but the Nostalgia Factor of It's Great WOW nice Enhanced Decals! Super Nice Flames Thanks to Round 2. If My original "Spirit of 57" First Issue Box Art box Stocker Had those in it A Patterned Set of Tri-Color Foames Would have Been there ! Excellent Clean Build of this kit as you always Do Chris. I like your Twist/Angle on this Build ait's likely different From.how many will build n that is Cool. I Definitely will be Buying 5-6 of These kits they're Super Good of the 70s Era kits this is MPCs Best The weak point of kit was how thin the plastic Rod sections the Front Wheels attached to. Hence mine after Accidental.bump from.my cat fell to Carieted Bedroom floor n the Passenger side Small wheel affixed Rod broke. I couldn't figure way too fix it then so I just made a Ground to frame Spacer Block from.plssyic thread spo n hid it On kass side n made pass side wheel n tire look like it was before it broke n no one noticed it So Impressive how it Looks Finished !
turned, awesome. I, built, that, kit, back, in the early. 70-$. I, just, order, one. looking, forwars, too, build it again. thanks for sharing. take care, an have a great day. thanks. mike.
I have the original release of this kit from back in the day. The decals are different but what I plan to do is paint it up like a 57 police car with drag racing package. I bought the kit used from a hobby shop that's in the cities.
Excellent build as always Chris! I have been using the Rustolium spray cans and have saved a lot of cash, thanks for sharing that tip. The results are very realistic!!
There's awesome. Then awesome sauce. Well, if awesome sauce had a sauce THIS BUILD would be it. One of those where everything seams to enhance everything else.Very nice build. Thanks for sharing...

I cant WAIT to get my car and what i'll do with this car. simple two tone body from a nice Copper and silver, Black and red interior, Chevy orange engine with white exhausts and lil bit of black parts for the supercharger, kinda wanting to have this guy like he has the car street driven but also very well taken cared of with alot of the chrome still polished and shined to perfection
I just picked up this re-release to add to the three or four older releases I have in my stash. Looking forward to building it up next year! You did great work, sir!
Cracking build and review, think i'll go for this kit, i'm over in Scotland though, it's not available over here so will order it from America, get it shipped over with some other goodies.

Great!!!!! Looks like I have to get an MPC '57 Gasser Kit. I always like Gassers. Everything just seems to meld together, huh, Chris? I like the Flip nose and the inside of the hood without color is a gr8 idea. Another flawless Kit, there Chris. Good build, gr8 model. Wonderful. god Bless, Take care, Be safe, n get that pink slip! Tom, T4, out.
Great presentation! I love it! It would be great, in a previous video you mentioned Tim Taylor, if you had a "garage" area, with the extra parts displayed, and the guy "admiring" his work. Great, great job!!!!
Great Build !!! Love all the information provided and products used, getting back in the hobby and have seen these products in the hobby stores much thanks as to how to apply and what there made for ..Excellent Video here I enjoyed it greatly ..I'm sold on this kit and will be my next kit I buy ! / T
The best part about some of the extra parts such as the exhaust pipes. You can use them on other models. They an be easily molded to fit most car models. I save a lot of the extra parts I find. I always have a use for them later on. Same with the decals. I can use them on another model. Waste not want not.

Pretty damn beautiful... just a suggestion, spark plug wires, simple detail but they add a ton of character to the engine IMO
