Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

In particular, amid inflation, investors should exercise caution when it comes to their exposure and new purchases. It is only feasible to get such high yields during a recession with the guidance of a qualified specialist or reliable counsel.

True, initially I wasn't quite impressed with my gains, opposed to my previous performances, I was doing so badly, figured I needed to diversify into better assets, I touched base with a portfolio-advisor and that same year, I pulled a net gain of $250k...that's like 3 times more than I average on my own.

A big part of NZ issue, was allowing so many people in without proper planning , and flooding low skilled job markets. It's driven up demand for rent and housing, while at the same time lowered wages. Seems like a cheap trick to prop up GDP falsely through population growth while quality of life nosedives.

The truth is that NZ is fucked. It was a matter of time this will happen.
There are 3 things that are critical for a decent life and sadly those are ruined here.
1- The chance of buying a first home, pretty impossible unless you’re millionaire.
    2- Education. Is fucked.
3- The Health system, totally fucked. They don’t have qualified people here and health is extremely expensive.
The previous government was a total disgrace to this country. They gave away residencies to people who don’t even speak English and are also unqualified, leaving international students who are well educated and getting degree level qualifications behind, fearing they would drop out if they were granted residency as well.
Now all the educated people, both locals or foreigners just want to leave.
If a country can’t provide that, is simply not a good place to be.

Contrary to what you say, Ardern did a disgusting job during the COVID "pandemic". She locked the country down for no valid reason causing wide economic destruction from which the country is struggling to recover. Ardern would be the worst PM that NZ has ever seen.
Moving to Australia is not a good move. Australia has a socialist government with excessive immigration from the Middle East which is causing division and has already made it impossible to buy a house to live in.
The cost of living in Australia is on the rise through government inaction. The Australian economy has gone into recession because of the Albanese Labor government. Australia is also moving to renewables for power, walking away from coal and gas, and this is causing the cost of power to increase dramatically. Australia is in trouble and without a new government will slip into third world status within 10 years.

Spot on mate. I was born and raised in Melbourne and in the last 33 years of my life, Melbourne has gone worst with wokeism on the rise. Too many Middle Eastern and African immigrants destroyed the economy, relying on CentreLink payment, breeding like there is no tomorrow. The housing price is a joke mate. It's gone off the roof and housing affordability is a thing of the past.
The Andrews Government destroyed Victoria, with draconian rules, and not to mention Melbourne had the longest COVID lockdowns, imposing difficulties and making people difficult to work. He also mandated the vaxx, vaxx passports, etc. Now, they are thinking of imposing digital ID as proposed by Bill Shorten. Australia, like NZ, is fucked beyond belief.

That no apparent reason killed millions and millions of people around the world, including more than 1 million Americans and almost Collapsed the entire health care systems of even the wealthiest countries in the world.
It drove doctors and nurses to the breaking point and it could have been much worse if governments around the world had not taken the measures they did.
It's unbelievable how more information and knowledge than ever is now available to more people than ever before and yet people have become more stupid than ever before.
Try talking to a nurse or a doctor who lived through that nightmare and saw the carnage at the hospital, the dead bodies stacked up together, the freezers running out of rooms to put dead bodies, the scenes of people on the floor in the hospital halls, the dying nurses and doctors. Health care officials having to make makeshift hospitals in parking lots.
You didn't see the carnage in person because society was still able to go on due to the hard work and sacrifice of so many public officials and healthcare providers.
I dealt with many nurses as part of my job and you have no idea what they went through. Public officials like Arden did.
They were trying to prevent the health care system around the world from collapsing.
Had it done so people would have died of easily curable conditions and even the most easy to treat health situation would become a death sentence.

This is a problem throughout the western world, governments have allowed mass immigration into all countries against its own people’s wishes , raising housing costs and suppressing wages , white people built these countries and the third world being allowed in will turn these countries into where they came from. Add the net zero scam, deindustrialisation and woke ideology turning natives into second class citizens in their own lands will only increase unrest. However fleeing to other countries is now not an option as all western countries are having the same demographic change. People will work hard to survive even if only a penny positive each month but once that becomes a penny negative with their institutions all set against them and pro immigrant only a backlash will ensue as in Britain recently which will be quelled by draconian lawfare for a while but the pressure cooker continues to boil. Western governments must change tack quickly or they will be replaced and fall like domino’s once the first is breached . I see peaceful separation as the hoped for option with immigrants returning with what they have made but if this does not happen I see a Yugoslavian type break up and all the variables that could involve.

Average price of a 2 bedroom rental home in Wellington is a whopping $800/week!! All subscriptions and expenses increase each year. The average person earns less than $30/hr. Retail is cheaper in Australia where in Australia you get paid more, with lower GST, and cheaper cars and cheaper retail. Even our own cereal is cheaper in Australia even after the currency conversion. Average single adult in our generation between who is under 40 years old on average spend $200/week on supermarket and takeaways combined.

The gap between rich and poor in New Zealand is getting wider, no actions to stop it. We thankfully owned own home before 2006 when property values nearly doubled. We have a chronic shortage of doctors, nurses, tutors, even the police are leaving in record numbers(due to failed pay negotiations). Even to get an appointment to see a local doctor is stressful (our poor doctors are stressed out). And the Mental Health system is a catastrophe, when people need urgent help, they are told they cannot see a doctor for at least 6 weeks. I understand why so many Kiwi Citizens are getting out, it feels like we are on the Titanic. Australia definitely pay better wages, but is just as expensive in the rent, groceries now.

If you have a water tank, you’ll have to pay Māori businesses to come and rest and chemically treat it. Māori own the radio waves. And soon Māori will own the foreshore and seabed. The media don’t report on any of this and there is a political movement to keep it out of public debate. It is absolutely crooked.

I think we are seeing the slow death of global migration. People in lower income countries are tired of their government and societal behaviour and move to developed countries. People in developed countries are tired of economic strain of handling too much migrants. Thus leads to conflicts between locals and migrants too.
Slowly every government in the world needs to work on multiple aspects within their country now so that most locals don't have to migrate. Gone are days where lower income countries government can hide behind some % of people working in developed countries and sending remittances.

On general summation, she was responsible for some laws that have paved the way for NZ to become a medical dictatorship the next time around. No, the reason why they flooded back was because they were faced with a situation that they thought was life-or-death, and they wanted to be where they felt their roots were. And many feared becoming trapped in lockdowns in foreign countries (many did become thus trapped). That they have left again, in an economic climate similar to the one in which they left the first time around, should come as a surprise to exactly nobody.

It's normal to hear about robberies at petrol stations, McDonald's, small shops, etc. I don't venture out at night anymore. The pay in Australia is so good Triple of what you earn compared to NZ. Unfortunately, they hate anyone who is not Caucasian and its hard to secure employment there if you are not "white". Also I wouldn't want to travel 2 hrs each way to work every day. I guess if money is the goal and you got a thick skin, then go for it. Took my highly experienced and educated Asian friend 18 months to secure a 35hrs per week job. From January to June 2024, 80,200 citizens of New Zealand, 1.5% of the entire population, left the country, said the New Zealand Statistics Department on Tuesday. That is a high percentage but in terms of raw numbers not high. It should be noted New Zealand citizen did come home as well, for each 3 departures 1 arrived back. Overall new migration remains positive, so the country is not empting out.
I suppose job opportunities is the main driver, the lockdowns did cause significant economic damage which the entire developed world is dealing with right now. New Zealand did lock down hard. As for being in recession or not, I suspect most of the developed world is in some form of recession. The way governments calculate inflation has changed a lot in the last 40 years and if we used the same methodology as we did in the 1980’s inflation is likely twice what the official rate is. That normally causes a lot of hardship.

I was doing an interview for junior doctors and a dentist(not a real doctor) suggested we employ a less able Pacifika male than a capable young white female Effectively telling her - although you are good, we are not going to employ you because of your colour. NZ is a crap place compared with other western countries. Communist like culture, parochial attitudes with people who aim for mediocrity in life. Those with any ambition go overseas. The local attitudes towards work, progress and life as a whole are the fundemental reasons for it's decline. I was talking to someone in Christchurch once about the lack of opportunities there and all I got was - "people are happy wanting nothing here". I heard that amongst other things and packed my bags and got out. Didn't want the kids growing up in that environment.
Whoever comes into government regardless of the intentions will have a difficult time rectifying the problems because of the fundamental culture.
