- Donald Trump has announced he is running for president in 2024 in order to “make America great and glorious again”.
“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Mr Trump said during the major announcement on Tuesday evening(local time).
Speaking in front of a cheering crowd in Mar-a-Lago, the former US president said America is in a “horrible state”.
“We’re in grave trouble - this is not a task for a politician or a conventional candidate,” Mr Trump said.
“This is a task for a great movement that embodies the courage, confidence and the spirit of the American people.”
