This seems like one of those "transition" games, they're in every generation. Things have moved past the previous generation, but developers are playing it safe and being conservative with things so they don't push the new hardware.
mikefromburn Like I said, it's a generation transition game, between the PS1 and PS2, so the developers played it very safe with the graphics and such to make sure they didn't push the new hardware too far and cause performance issues.
Man, this brings back some memories! My friend and I found out that if you go on 2 player at a place like Dega and have a big gap between players (like 1 lap), the AI will compensate the trailing player's speed (we both got to 250 mph). You should try it! Thanks for the post

The only real way to play this game is with a friend, and not race at all. At the start of the race (I usually played on Talladega because of its smooth turns), you turn around and proceed to drive the wrong way while your friend tries to actually race. Because you're driving the course backwards, you get the speed comp, making you go up to like 240mph (about 40mph faster than everyone else). Then, while your friend is trying to race, you try to hunt him down and smash into him to completely fuck him over.

the real akward moment is when you were absent from the sport for 12 years, started to get back into it and i see the drivers and i was like.... who the hell are all these people?
this game is so awesome i need to tell my daughter to get it for my son so he can play when she get the paystation 2 she said she was gonna get fo christmas!!!!!! amazing!!!!

I don't see Texas, Rockingham, Las Vegas, Pocono, and Michigan, and they were featured in previous Nascar games before this. Dover, Homestead and New Hampshire wouldn't be featured at all until Nascar Thunder 2002.

I think most EA NASCAR games have that, so races are closer and more fun if the other player isn't very good.

After 2016, only Kenseth and Dale Jr. remain as full time drivers. Bobby Labonte and Michael Waltrip are part time while Elliott Sadler is in Xfinity.
