I’d skip combat stuff in the beginning. Focus on carry weight, lock picking, jet packs and the vendor buff. Also I know if you’re playing you really want a new ship but the one from this mission is just ok. It’s better but not in the way that matters the most which is cargo space. Instead go to akila and do the ranger quest line. The ship you get at the end is so much better in every single way. Also bonus tip you can repaint any ship you own. I think a lot of people are hype on the mantis ship because it’s black
My tips. 1. The game throws them at you enough that any time you want to start you'll be able to find plenty. Have fun, enjoy the diversions, you'll never know what crazy experiences/situations you'll get yourself into.

The dilemma that they faced making this game is there are so many things to do. There are entire concept you can get lost in and never do anything else. You have to learn how to do those things though we’re not talking about just one thing or just two things there are several things you can just become and never touch the main story, but playing the main story is how you learn to do those things. Perfect example is the first mission of the game no spoilers, but you go through a combat scenario. Imagine if you never went through that combat scenario, you would never have been taught how to fight in this particular manner. That’s what I mean. If you don’t play through the main story and learn how to base build when you start base building on your own you’ll say I’ve never been taught how to do that. The same thing for board and ships the same thing for becoming a space pilot and running contraband. The list goes on and on. This is a game with tons of systems in it that you can get lost in, but you have to learn how to do them first. So anybody who plays the game just mainline it for the first six hours. I would recommend maybe the first 8 to 10 hours after that go do what you want you’ll probably get lost in the world know you’ll get lost in the universe or the galaxy whatever. I do have one issue. Well I have several issues storage being the main one, but I do wish the skill points were handled differently. You primarily get skill points when you level up I wish they had built in a way to get skill points besides leveling up. It would be nice to get a scale point once I complete so many side quests . Get a skill point once I reach some certain level in a faction. Would get several skill points once I hit some base building mile stone. I hope you understand what I’m saying if I choose a path to go down when I hit a certain point give me some skill points so I can develop even further. I think that is something they need to think about very hard and they’re going to add it to the game do it early do it now.
The Razorleaf also has the ability to make enemy ships scared of you and start flying away so if you just don’t want to deal with random ships attacking you it helps.
You don't need to do the old neighborhood to proc the quest. In fact, I received the quest line before the old neighborhood quest. I can't remember the planet it was within the starting solar system, basically "The old neighborhood". After killing off some randos. I was scanning (F & E) then discovered a random location with pirates. There I killed a random & it had the note that started the quest. So look for a random location with pirates in the old neighborhood & you'll probably get the drop.
One important trait without spoiling much, one actually gives you a nice house (you get others throughout the game but its nice to have early) just remember you get a mortgage lol
Funny enough I took the house and the wanted trait as it’s more stuff I get to pick up and sell so the more bounty hunters come after me the more money I have to pay my house off

Lie, most combat skills are garbage. The Cutter is the best weapon in the game. Pistols suck. A long range Laser rifle is a good secondary. But stealth cutter is unbeatable.
you can also find the data pad on the first planet kreet yes I explored a little but I got it inside the abandoned research lab a short run behind where you land
Is there a point in the game you need to get to or a skill or something to be able to lean? I’ve gotten him to pup upwards out of cover but not the sides and a lot of times I just end up aiming at the box I’m behind.
I thought I got a good roll, but decided to try one load and I got plus 40 carry/-20 dmg from Machines/and something else great I forget, and the helmet had plus 25 carry. I was with my first partner and struggling with all the crap I had of value to sell. Thanks for this, I hated the few space suits I had. With I didn't invest in my first ship but oh well, I'll make it back with all the stuff I can sell now.
From what I've noticed, if people don't want to be spoiled they won't watch vids of the game on youtube or any other outlet. So if they're watching they're wanting to get spoiled, so spoil away.
So is loot randomized and to what extent because in my very first mission I got a legendary shotgun and I’m wonder if I’m absurdly lucky or if that’s just a scripted item
Seems to be both some set loot with mostly random. If you're doing missions, especially story missions the locations they'll take you to are more likely handcrafted ones, which seems to have some set drops.
From ship venders. First place you land at new Atlantis, before going down the ramp, to the right there will be a guy & a green terminal. The terminal is for just selling item's, but the person let's you upgrade/design your ship, you'll need to design your ship to place cargo segments, whereas upgrading allows you to upgrade parts you've already got.

It doesn't matter what ship is home ship, it automatically shift the cargo between the ships. you can't really have a ship for only storing cargo (unless there's a setting I've missed to stop auto transfer). Also if there is some glitch going on for you, you can just go & take all the cargo from your ship & walk to the vendor. Anyway hope that helps.

When ur on space stations. And use pickpocketing... does the difficulty affect those items and if so. That would make pickpocketing a broken skill.
