    Thank you for watching this video featuring the WE Banter Knife, designed by Ben Banters. I see that a lot of the comments are in regard to the country of manufacture being China. I can totally understand the reasoning behind not wanting to purchase any items from that country if possible, especially with everything that has gone on in 2020. I have made a similar stance with the tools in my tool bag, trying to buy Made in USA or Europe if at all possible. It's pretty hard to do 100%. After all, I'm writing this comment from my Chinese made Smartphone. :) If you feel that there is a knife that meets the things that I am looking for in an Urban EDC Knife (e.g., Non-Tactical, Quality Materials/Build, Color or Wood Handle, 3 inch or less blade, SUPER deep pocket clip, safe locking mechanism, AND it is Made in the USA, please let me know by replying to this comment. I would be happy to do a follow up video! Is it the Benchmade Bugout? I know that many Americans were upset with Benchmade after they were filmed destroying guns as part of some political pandering a few years back. As I mentioned in this video, I've am really happy with the WE Banter knife, but I am always looking for new video ideas too and cool new gear, so feel free to comment away! Thank you for your support of my channel and for keeping the conversations going in regard to the world of Emergency Preparedness! Got Preps? ~Cliff

      Thank you Cliff for all the great work you do.
      The knife's the easy part; great knife options are made the world over. Much harder is finding a non-Chinese flashlight with comparable lumens that isn't twice (or more) the price. :-(

    Nice review. Although I don’t get the comparison with the Bugout. If you picked the mini bugout it would be a better comparison. Sizes are more in line with each other..

    Still rocking my 20CV purple knife center edition. Still my favorite basic EDC and it's in my small jeans pocket daily. I have specific use knives that are more expensive tougher duty. But day to day? Love this thing.

    If you want a USA made knife, try Benchmade mini Bugout, I have the full size version and it rides very well in the pocket.

    Got mine a few weeks ago. I went black. Love it .we knife had a lot of influence on this High quality production knife BOOM . Most of my collection is
    USA made or Italian. But I
    Also have several other we knives. 5 years ago they started at $395 and went up .so to get a we for $108
    Is a real bargain. And the perfect EDC is just the icing on the cake. Thanks Ben . BULLSEYE. P. S
    When will Ben blue pivot and screws be available??

    Thanks for your videos. I love how you are helping to make us zombie sheep a little more prepared. I feel I learned a lot from your channel. A lot of comments say no made in China. Maybe you could do a series of made in America Edc items? For me, that is what I prefer, but mostly not made in China. Also where to buy. Amazon has lots of copies...

    • @TheUrbanPrepper
      @TheUrbanPrepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment! I prefer USA made products too, although that's tough to do 100%, especially when talking about electronics. There's probably a good chance that everyone who made a comment about it being made in China did it from their Chinese made iPhone or laptop. :) BladeHQ is a good store to buy knifes. I might look into an All American EDC setup. That seems like a fun video topic.

      Thanks a bunch! I prefer to keep that topic private online for various reasons. In general, I try to avoid topics that can potentially polarize my audience and stick with preparedness topics that are more universal. There's lots of great firearms channels out there that I enjoy.

    I am new to prepping and trying to discern why you need a stand alone knife if you already have one on your Swiss Army knife or Leatherman. Also, why do you need an EDC flashlight? Can you maybe provide some scenarios?

    • @TheUrbanPrepper
      @TheUrbanPrepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Welcome to Prepping! Some people prefer to have a little but more knife as their primary cutting tool and use the multitool blade as more of a secondary, utility blade. Pocket flashlights come in handy all the time for various illumination purposes in the evening (searching for things) and far outpeforms your cell phone's LED flashlight.

    If i didn't already have a comparable option (and i would be willing to spend that amount of $ on a knife) i would most certainly consider this knife for EDC purposes. 'We' both seem to have a similar set of criteria for a pocket knife, the biggest obviously to be the least threatening and conspicuous option next to not carrying a knife, this mainly because for quite a portion of our time we will be spending it in an office setting... On that note i would like to add that i find the visual feel of this knife to look very utilitarian, it gives off more of a vibe of a foldable boxcutter then anything you would use to rob an old lady, so yeah, i totally get your enthusiasm :)

  • @dkompolt1234
    @dkompolt1234 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ah yes, the Banterknife. Perhaps more EDC friendly than the Spyderco Paramilitarytwoknife, and surprisingly comparable to the Benchmade Bugoutknife. The Banterknife looks like a fine choice, and a logical upgrade from the Delicafourknife, for example. It might be cool to see a larger version of the Banterknife, closer to 3.75 inches. That would be stiff competition for the TRM Atomknife, I think.

    • @kevinmorrice

    Thank you for reviewing a non-tactical edc knife! The We Banter looks great! Love the blade design! However, why do you list liner lock as a criteria? Or do you? 🤔 Or did I just misunderstand that part? 🤔
    Personally, for me, liner locks are dangerous. It's a bloody disaster just waiting to happen 😎 But that's just me 😎

    • @TheUrbanPrepper
      @TheUrbanPrepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cold Steel triad lock or I'm going fixed blade, no liner or frame locks , I don't trust them at all!! Especially with self defense applications which all my knives must progress in .thats why I choose cold steel triad lock system or fixed blade. Put my life on the Andrew demco triad lock by cold steel .

      I personally try not to buy made in China myself. There have been times that some China made items are indeed made better than American which is a real shame. Rare in deed but a recent example is my Vigor Pots vs anything Vollrath made I bought in a set. Vigor's metal quality is superior than Vollrath's metal. It seems like some companies promoting made in the USA think they can get a free pass on sales while offering worthless products.

    It's a nice design but over $100 dollars for a knife made in China? No thanks. I'll stick with my Bugout which is made in the USA and has a better lockup. I personally would rather support something US produced at that price point.

    • @TheUrbanPrepper
      @TheUrbanPrepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely understand. The Bugout is nice too. I have one myself, as you saw in this video. :)

    • @MaFiaMediaHD
      @MaFiaMediaHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strongly disagree on the better lockup. I really love Benchmade as well but i had an omega spring break in my bugout. And have had one other Benchmade that i had the same issue with. I also much prefer the S35VN steel to the S30V of the Bugout. We knives are made in China, but they put out premium products without question. I do typically support US made knives more often than not, and have mostly US made knives in my collection, but I’ll be jumping at the opportunity to support Ben Peterson as a knife designer. All the while knowing that I’m getting an extremely well made tool from We.

    • @MaFiaMediaHD
      @MaFiaMediaHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And the fact that Benchmade has destroyed guns and taken anti 2nd amendment stances in the past definitely rubs me the wrong way after finding that out. I still really love some of my Benchmade knives, but I still always think about them destroying guns when contemplating buying other knives from them.

    If it were light gray, or had a beautiful wood handle, I'd consider it. I hate pastel colors!
    Also, the Bible tells us we shouldn't be living in the cities in the last days, which we are already in. Even if you don't believe, nobody can doubt that the cities are imploding, the last month's events prove my point. If your job is in the city, at the very least you need to move out of the city and just commute!
    Also: Nobody who wants to defend knife or gun rights should EVER buy a Benchmade. Benchmade gives substantially to anti-freedom Demorat politicians and supports gun confiscation/destruction.
    Have a blessed day!

      Minuteman for 2000 years, 100% of those who have tried to predict the end of the world have been 100% wrong, 100% of the time. All of them are always completely wrong. This is not a group you want to join. Jesus said that we will always live in tribulation (John 16:33), and this has been true for every generation. Every generation has had person who thought they too were living in the end times, and they have all been wrong. The Bible does not give us a clue about the timing of the end - only that we can heart because He has overcome the world. Take care.
