I love how Subspace and Medkit parallel each other. Same health, a circle attack, a mobility option that can deal damage, the ability to heal themselves through attacking and a diamond crystal ult that is one of the best in the game.
their main colours also contrast each other on the colour wheel (for the most part) and have a similar walk and idle They r very similar to each other with so many tiny details along with the obvious ones and its so awesome
I'm pretty sure the reason why sub does poison damage is because the damage from poison doesn't get affected by vulnerability, probably to encourage the sub to help their team and not go in 1v1s.
Poison damage actually is affected by vuln, however since vuln damage rounds to the nearest whole number it only gets boosted when at the max 50 vuln, which your only really going to reach reliably on katana and banhammer. it used to be alot more important before his changes to having much shorter endlag and reduced vuln application on primary

Subspace has always been my main every since i started had a great team and got an 18 assist game. it felt like it was meant to be and we have stuck, He is really just simple as hell and i truely love him for that but the team reliance always gets me in opens. however you really conveyed how nice he can feel even without being overly complicated. amazing beginner phighter imo but kinda team reliant
Weird Subspace tech/niche: using m2 under yourself right before using your Phinisher can throw off opponents looking for an immobile target! (Subspace has basically 0 other tech to my knowledge LOL)
i tried doing this but i misread what you said i thought its "use m2 AFTER using phinisher" lol but still very useful, !! this honestly convinced me to be a subspace main
Subspace against a Medkit(both skilled), medkit wins, unlike vinestaff, he can just cleanse that high 50 vuln in just one ability, his self sustain doesnt need someone to die in order to proc, has multiple self defense tools where subspace might struggle even with his nice utility options(because Im a generalist)

i have a headcanon that medkit used to clip subspace’s gnarly, fungus infested toenails. And one day, a stray toenail clipping flew straight into med’s eye yowch.. and sub accidentally tore out his eye while pulling out the clipping or whatever. Subspace eventually made biogarft to do the dirty job for him……… he originally called him mr. clippers.
I have one question that just came to mind, even though I'm a Subspace main... WHY is he even in a support group? Get this, he MAKES tripmines, he deals damage, he even MADE a melee character (Biograft), AND CAN SUMMON A BLACK HOLE.
Nobody else will say it, I will. Sub space is too broken. He has not 1, but 2 status effects exclusive to him that he can very easily apply to any enemies that want to move. He is the only character in the game this focused on de buffs, which gives him an unreplaceable role in a composition. You all think hyper is good because of his damage? No, it’s because he is the only other phighter that can dish out status effects at half the speed of subspace. Do I think subspace needs nerfs? Yes, maybe 1 less trimine on the map would help with the insane amount of area denial, but the main thing that makes him so good is his unique role. If the next phighter was themed around applying unique status conditions to enemies, subspace would have some competition, and he would be very balanced. My idea is that the next melee phighter is steam punk, and he applies stacks of steam onto enemies, giving them kb they take from all moves. Idc, just boggio, please give us another debuff phighter that unlike subspace, specializes in close range.
tbh just an opinion but i feel like a lot of stuff makes up for his crazy area denial buffs, the fact that he just relies on being at least a part of a kill and also the fact that he basically relies on people walking into his traps plays into something, precision and planning is a huge key to him, and the skillz to just get enough assists/kills to live on
