I think in "Hidden London Hangouts" they said that most of these shelters were started during WWII but not open to public until 1944 (after the 1942 Blitz). The Clapham South one was used by the Empire Windrush, and something about during the 50's there was a Festival of Britain and some of the workers had their sleeping quarters in some of these shelters. The actual stations were the real WWII shelters at the height of the bombing.
Just take the opportunity to say thank you as I’m disabled I can’t do the things that you’re doing even though I would love to thank you so much Matthew I have got to know you very well from your videos and I love the person you are so thank you from the disabled community for taking us places we can’t go hope you had a happy Christmas and have aVery prosperous and adventurous New Year
i used to go to those tunnels while working for a data storage company about 25 years ago, they rented them for storing files and computer reels on behalf of companies. It was a company called security archives.

The lined section is where the underground farm Growing Underground did its trials, they have now moved to the next shelter up. I visited a few years back to provide provisional drawings for a new lift to provide better/safer access.
On the other side of ‘Bean About Town’ van you can see the ventilation tower, that you where talking about at the top of the stairway....you can see the tower from the road...40:46
Thanks Matt look up clekenwell prison it's privately owned when i visited in 1992 built as a house of ditenson in 1800s but has an undenith prison completely unexplored because the cost of removing the celled up entrances of old bricks are listed and have to be pur back in exactly the same as when you remove them incse to costly
Looks like they are going to extend the tunnel or were thinking of doing, that's a permeable lining for the water ingress for the tunnel sections and looks like a newly sprayed concrete lined bit on the tunnel as you get further down it.
