Same… I watched it one year ago. I am in a long-running grieving process after losing my parents and after so much happening in my life and the little growing soul close to me. It is a movie that makes us look into a very deep void, but then gives us the same level of peacefulness. Those mountains, immobile spectators of millennia of events and chances. My mind wanders.
absolutely agree! Have been a longtime fan of his ever since I saw Disney's Dinosaur as a kid. My favorite scores of his are the mentioned, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Signs and the Hunger Games. All of the have his trademark signature but they never overpower the story of the films they are in.
I enjoyed every second of this movie. It was so moving, and inspiring, it made me rethink a lot of things from my life. Truly a work of art, a masterpiece (because of the director, actors, soundtrack, story, cinematography, editing costume design, places where they shoot) every frame was a painting, everything evoked emotion, very profound movie! I mean, the editing for this... my god it is insanely good, it took 2 years and 3 editors to make it! Beyond incredible work! And of course, beautiful video!! I'm glad you made it💛
This is what i have been looking for a long time. A video that compiles the beauty of this film while the main song plays in the back. This video makes my whole chest feel like is being invaded by a warm yet sorrowful breeze. The natural light shining on the characters' faces and the composition are just stunning. Thank you for this Malick and thank you for this video!
Jim McCaul Ya but I don’t think anyone’s comparing the two. Also Jojo Rabbit is great in it’s own way, it has different and a unique narrative (as to my knowledge) to the “ I lived through the world war” narrative and it’s supposed to be cartoonish and funny.
Absolutely amazing! Well done. You are really awesome, keep up the good work. This one, Barry Lyndon and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are among my favorites. And many more, of course, but to me it feels like with these three, you've done an amazing job. Hats off to you!
I've discovered your channel 2 days ago with the Amélie Poulain video, and I've immediatly suscribed because it's exactly the kind of stuff I like on TH-cam as a cinephile. I love how you pay tribute to such beautiful movies, it's almost like watching it a second time (your video about Interstellar made me cry-). I saw A Hidden Life at the cinema, it was awesome (particularly visually) ! I'm glad to see these images and hear this theme again. And by the way, you did a "The beauty of A Clockwork Orange" and I'm very grateful for that because it's my fav movie, so thank you a lot owo So I've just discovered your channel and I don't know if you already did it, but I saw Us recently and I loved it, it was visually stunning, so... here's a suggestion for another video x') Also Edward Scissorhands could be awesome, I love this movie so much ! EDIT : Another suggestion : Magnolia. God I can't believe I didn't think about it, I mean, I saw it yesterday and it's so good and beautiful !
@@TheBeautyOf il nous a fait découvrir ta chaîne sur twitch en nous montrant ta vidéo d'Amélie poulain y'a 2/3 jours... Je retrouve pas le Stream sur sa chaîne mais en gros il a dit qu'il était fan
Fun fact: although the film is fictionally set in Austria, most if the locations are actually in North Italy. The protagonist's village is Sappada, a beautifully preserved medieval town in the heart of the Dolomites.
1917 has very top notch cinematography and The Lighthouses really knows how to create an atmosphere, but personally A Hidden Life has the best cinematography of all films of 2019
Someone please help me, I'm very desperate lol. what is the exact song used in the bike scene shown first in this video. I mean the one i the actual movie. I can't find it anywhere on the offical soundtrack and its the most beatiful thing I've heard.
Hey, I found your channel a few weeks ago and have been loving your videos. They are exactly what I'm looking for if I want to quickly relieve a film. Cinematography and music work together so well and I really do not need to hear dialogue again to get the feeling I had while watching the film in the first place. I really loved A Hidden Life and was hoping you would do a video on it. One thing that I didn't really like though were the transitions. I feel like you need to stay on a shot for a few seconds to let it do its work, and with these fade transitions I feel like we get less time with each shot. Just my thoughts on this, keep doing what you're doing, I really love your videos! Oh and of course some recommendations: The Searchers (1956), The Godfather (1972), The Godfather: Part II (1974), Days of Heaven (1978), Hero (2002), Silence (2016), Manchester by the Sea (2016), Wildlife (2018)
Your videos are so beautiful! I want to see "The Beauty of Mary and Max" in your channel. I'm sure you will do a good job. It would be nice to see more European and Korean cinema. :)

Such a masterpiece in my opinion. I can’t stop thinking about this film.

It is a movie that makes us look into a very deep void, but then gives us the same level of peacefulness. Those mountains, immobile spectators of millennia of events and chances.

I'm so happy that you decided to use the Ost's main theme. James Newton Howard is a fantastic composer and he needs more recognition.
absolutely agree! Have been a longtime fan of his ever since I saw Disney's Dinosaur as a kid. My favorite scores of his are the mentioned, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Signs and the Hunger Games. All of the have his trademark signature but they never overpower the story of the films they are in.
@@NicolasWaldvogel These scores are great, but The village and Lady in the water will always be my favourite!
Does anybody know the piece thats played when he’s reading his last letter??
I agree. I have been listening to Aurora in Faerieland (Maleficent) and it is absolutely stunning.
I keep on hearing this over and over, the man has 9 Oscar nomination, does this tell you he lacks recognition?
The use of depth in this movie is fucking phenomenal.
I cannot begin to describe how beautiful this film is. Not just nature shots but the fish-eye at the start and then the wonderful portraits. I love it
the most truly haunting movie ive seen in a while
imagine if malick make this into a silent film with music for 3 hours and we still would understand it.
I hope he did because I don't like the narration he puts in his movies
Masterpiece.Terrence Malick is a genius.

I watched this movie a few days ago and it has to be one of the ( if not THE movie ) movies with the BEST cinematography i've ever watched.
This is what i have been looking for a long time. A video that compiles the beauty of this film while the main song plays in the back. This video makes my whole chest feel like is being invaded by a warm yet sorrowful breeze. The natural light shining on the characters' faces and the composition are just stunning. Terrence Malick is on the same level of Tarkovsky without doubt.... It's a top 10 of all time directors.
Completely agree
Omg i love Terrence but i would never say that...like how? but anyway, to each their own
@@jessica5497 Days Of Haven, Thin Red Line, Tree Of Life, A Hidden Life...to me its clear: he Is exactly on The same level
Lubezki's style is all over this. Apparently the DP worked with Lubezki before.
tarkovsky and malick are my two favorite
Glad I saw this in a theater
This is the best movie i've ever seen.
This film is a stunning experience.
The beauty of THE MISSION (1986).
Incredible! I instantly added this movie to my watchlist. Some of the beat cinematography I have ever seen. And the music is beautiful as well
Malick always makes masterpieces. Immense in all its parts.
I'm grateful I got to see this in the theaters twice. This was was back when they still used to show movies in theaters.
Even thought it felt so long... This movie is one of my favourites of the last year
One of my life wishes is to see this film in the cinema again. Great video as always! The transitions you used work very well for this film!
congrats on this one because every shot in the movie belongs in a museum
When I hear this song I can't help crying. It's so full of everything.
Malick's latest film. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Just saw it last week, I must say that the entire scene of this film is beautiful.
Un chef-d'œuvre !!!! Quelle profondeur !! Quelle musique !! ❤
I love all his films but this is Terrence Malick's best one. Thanks for sharing The Beauty Of.
I feel deos and peace in front of the infinite beauty and poetry of Terrence Malick
I got some recommendations:
the beauty of-the pianist
-jojo rabbit
-crouching tiger hidden dragon
-raging bull
-the godfather
-goodfellas
JoJo Rabbit isn't even in the same universe as this movie. It has a buffoonish edge to it.

" - И где теперь твоя искра...?"

One of the most overlooked films of all time. Definitley one of the best looking alongside Blade Runner 2049 on my opinion
This movie man... so amazing
Malicks best movie since ,,The Tree of Life"!!
i think this is your best video
The Beauty of The New World and Ali
Beautiful movie but the theme reminds me of the Village. Lucius and Ivy. Love it. James Newton Howard at his best.

Great video! Could a make a request for a video, Good Time (2017) by the Safdie brothers!

This is the music from the movie. The Germans killed this man after imprisoning him for not being willing to kill the Jews.
Why everyone ignores the massterpiece of the Coen brothers “the Ballad of Buster Scruggs”.
