My family and I are hiking this section now. First time hiking. Got a late start and Didn't quite make it to the first water source. We are about a mile out.

That’s a beautiful section Aaron. It is rather exposed and dry though.

Hey Rev, congratulations on making it through the desert, I know you’re already done but I’m just watching your videos now while recovering from a case of Covid, really enjoying watching your journey. Nice work, your videos are well done👍👍

Thanks Matt. That’s a bummer about getting COVID. Hope you’re doing better. I hope you get to watch all of them. There’s a gap between Sawmill Pass and Echo Lake. My phone/camera broke and I didn’t get any footage. I’m going to hike that section next year, film my journey and add it to my Playlist. Thanks again for the kind words.

@@TheHikingRev Thank you, we are all on the road to recovery, our cases were mild thankfully.
Looking forward to seeing them all and your gap fillers when you get it done👍
      Take care,
      Matt

Rhonda Brumitt Thanks Rhonda! I haven’t heard from you in a while.
I made it over the highest point on the PCT (Forester Pass, 13,200 ft.) and the next day while hiking, I tripped on something, fell and injured my shoulder. I’m off Trail and home for the rest of the year recuperating and going to physical therapy. I’ll resume my hike next year from where I left off.

Great videos! You may have answered these questions in one of your upcoming videos but did you carry a bear canister the entire hike? And where and how did you store your food at night? Thank you.

I carried a BV 450 from Kennedy Meadows to Echo Lake. I just put the canister about 20 to 50 feet from my tent. I only hung my food bag a couple of times. The rest of the time I just kept it in my backpack inside my tent. I also kept my food in an Opsack inside my food bag.
