TALES FROM NERDVILLE by Joe Bonamassa
POWER OF THREE
The art of playing in a trio
If you are the lead singer and the guitar player, or the lead singer and bass player, you can perform as a three-piece, classic examples being Trapeze with Glenn Hughes, and of course Jimi Hendrix and Cream. In this lesson, Joe Bonamassa demostrates techniques on the guitar that apply best to the three-piece power trio format, in the sense that you, the guitarist, have way more sonic space to take up.

This whole series by Joe is great
I don’t get the hate he gets in the comments. He is one of the best.
it's complete jealousy. He is just a killer player. I mean, just listen to his rhythm playing here . need I say more?
There’s nothing to hate. He’s a nice guy and a great player. I went to his show in Phoenix. It was a fantastic show. I will see him again if I get the chance.
I suppose there’s an element of tribalism in it (who’s the G.O.A.T etc). That and the jealousy. Lovely tone too. Yes, I am a wee bit jealous 🙂
@@Mike-rw2nh there is no such thing as best guitarist or whatever. it's all subjective. people have their favorites and that is fine, but they should never bash another player no matter what his or her skill level is, it's just not cool. I learn from everyone even if I don't particularly like their genre of music. If they are good, they are good. And yes, his tone is incredible.
@@sixslinger9951 Agreed!
Good advice
cool tone! beefy
Hello!
you can't unless you are Rosetta Tharpe
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ................................ Mia alias missSloww ........................................................
I’m gonna watch and listen to the rest of this video but I gotta stop you right there buddy. The instrument is a voice. Joe Satriani wishes he could play guitar as well as Robert plant sings. And that’s a quote from Joe Satriani. Get over your guitar man.
A melodic voice is often referred to as an instrument... so why not the other way around. Doesn't seem like a big deal!
You know damn well it’s not an instrument in the literal sense
