    Traffic is like something out of Calcutta! I thought it was much worse these days but there’s far more order and sequence nowadays

      yes, the 1980s were really bad, i think dublin looked the best in the 1960s but actually it looks better today than in the 80s

    People are still blocking the yellow boxes now, just a bit less so thanks to slightly better training and stricter tests before they can get on the road... Also, as much as everybody hates the NCT (my cars have always failed and need a retest... every year), it's good that we don't have absolute stinking rustbuckets gassing up the street with impenetrable smoke now! :D
    It's nice to see those old Atlanteans (usually the 16/A and 22 when I was going to Coláiste Mhuire in Parnell Square c.1994)!

    Cars blocking up the yellow box junction and people to relaxed and too polite to blow their horns.
    They were good days, and God bless them all, there were a lot of decent people around then, I am sorry I didn't appreciate them more.

    I like seeing retro cars on the roads in other countries that are well maintained. Pity we have the stupid money grabbing NCT test

    • @batlin
      @batlin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Sam Ma The NCT is a bit of a pain, and I like the old cars too... but at least it means we don't have massively smog-filled roads like at the start of the video! And I remember Dublin city centre in the 1980s, it was loud and stank of sulphur and who knows what from all the bangers going around with no catalytic converters and busted exhausts.

    Ah Jack KD202`s driver had little choice but to manouvere past the Audi 100 that planted itself directly in front of him (On the Yellow Box )
    (Note the Busdrivers use of the Right Indicator)
    As this clip proves some €60 Million and 24 years later things at this junction remain EXACTLY the same.
    This is what makes us different from the "Real" europeans...they would have used the Celtic Tiger billions to engineer their way out of the problem,we just scratched our heads and wondered.

    the new money made it look like the largest knackers holding site in the world...i mean...look at the way they drive..?..savages..it really is a hole.
