Had no idea Albini worked on this until yesterday. Listening back now, though, and it makes complete sense. If there was anyone capable of bringing the energy of their live shows into the studio, it was him. RIP to a legend.

I still regularly listen to Plagues / Walking Disease after all these years. Hard as hell. I’ve also been legitimately scared each time I’ve seen them lol.
I kind of like that this isn’t on Spotify and I don’t own a physical copy of it. This is my favorite album by them that I haven’t completely run into the ground 😅 having to listen to it on TH-cam makes it a nice surprise the couple times a year I come back to it.
Remember I found this in like a MySpace sidebar back in like 04. Got me onto xfilesx, outbreak and so on. None of the other albums quite did it for me, though.
Picked up an original copy of this on vinyl and it is quite something. Because it is such a short album and spaced out onto two sides of a 12" (they could have fit the entire thing on one side if they wanted to) the bass and dynamics are truly out of this world. All-analog goodness.
Trash Talk, Punch and Nails are the last hc(ish) bands that honestly blown me away. I hope i missed some new bands which are just as good. Any recommendation?
So I gave this a spin while making late, friday night after the punk gig , dinner, and 14 minutes later I'm all sweaty again ,and my fuckin shirts ripped. >
This album is a prime example of what Steve Albini believes an engineer should be. Record a band to the best of your ability, and stay out of the way of the rest. I bought an original pressing of this and it sounds truly insane.
This guys been beaking me for a long time. I just jumped down from my balconey and went to his place barefoot and peed on his fence while he watched, HA!
This is the last good thing they released. Walking Disease 7" was their best release. Plagues 7" was great. This was solid. Everything after is forgettable.
Rest in peace Steve. Thanks for bringing this album to its full potential ❤️
