  • The Renogy 220W folding solar panel, also referred to as a Solar Briefcase, is the perfect mobile solar solution. Folded up the 220W panel is fairly small and at 15lbs it is easy to carry with you if you are camping or going off the grid. It has all the attributes of glass panels as it is IP68 water protection, so you can set this up at your campsite and leave it there 24/7 even if there are some rain showers in the forecast. I am sure I will be using the 2 panels I have all the time at my off-grid homestead.

Guys - we have a small farm and Covid messed up our catamaran dreams too - we still have the farm though and now that I am retired by default we are looking into going totally offgrid. We are in the middle of nowhere anyway and Starlink is our only external connection. TC Brad

We are in the same (non) boat. 😆. Sailing the world plans changed when there is the constant threat of WWIII

Those panels are great when someone else paid for them

You look like the host of a sailing channel I used to watch (haven't seen videos from them in a while)

If you have considered retiring out of Canada, where were your shortlist destinations? Why did you choose to remain in Canada given the wicked financiap climate? I know you think things through and these may be great topics to share that likley span your audience interests.. (sailing, retieement, sustainability, independence).. always love the content..cheers.

Thanks for the ideas for future episodes. Our plan was to stay Canadian citizens, but sail the world on catamaran. Once we ruled out, the catamaran idea the next best option, for things that we would like to do, is to live in a remote setting off grid. I love solar and not being dependent on institutional power, water etc. Being self-sufficient might be very valuable in the future.

Great video. I ordered the 220w suitcase panel a month ago. It arrived on time, but the panel was scratched up and well-used. I called the company immediately and have been in run around hell. I just want to return the item and get my money back. Ronogy is terrible to work with. I would AVOID this company at all costs.

    170 watts
Not even 200 out of 220
    IDK
    Big bucks & low watts
    But that's me

Ya. I’ve seen 190s. So 200 is probably what it should be rated as. You almost never get full power out of any solar panel. Especially folding portable ones.

      . I found $55 100 watt panels that do 100 to 105 watts...
And nobody wants bi facial panels either.. well hardly anybody 🙄 lol
Maybe bi facials are only good for the panel farms??
