    The actor who played Dr. Milo, Sal Mineo found the ape makeup to be uncomfortable and even wants out of the movie. So, they have his character killed off by being mauled to death by an unevolved gorilla. In the original script, the character was supposed to be in the film a lot longer.

    • @ricomajestic
      @ricomajestic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Milo was a genius ape who had consulted and talked extensively with Taylor about the ship and about the technology behind it. • @ricomajestic
      @ricomajestic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@elijahvigil7467 I guess you have to use your imagination. The apes were communicating with Taylor and Brent and this might have lasted for years with each learning from the other. We are not given a timeline for how long all these characters interacted with each other. It is highly unlikely they would be able to repair it even with some assistance from the humans but not impossible. Most of them have been great films though even if some things are not explained fully.

    Someone wondered about the ship's clock clicking backwards, suggesting that it's some kind of mistake. In my opinion, the ship's computer is programmed to adjust the EARTH-TIME chronometer in relation to the SHIP-TIME chronometer based on what the spacetime-warping engine is doing -- its "Hasslein Drive" to give it a name. In the opening scene of the 1st film, we see 3 days of EARTH-TIME click by as Taylor monologues for his 'Final Report', citing "Doctor Hasslein's theory of Time in a vehicle traveling nearly the speed of light" etc. The EARTH-TIME clock clicks forward at a faster rate relative to the SHIP-TIME clock because the computer knows that relativistic Time Dilation is happening, due to the manner in which the Hasslein Drive is bending spacetime around the ship.
    Similarly, the ship's computer must have been calculating a NEGATIVE flow of EARTH-TIME when the Apes were in it, following the 'shockwave' that intercepted them while in orbit above the doomed Earth, all the while the SHIP-TIME clock kept on clicking by at the same rate they were experiencing inside the ship. The EARTH-TIME clock merely displays the Time that the computer calculates is going on OUTSIDE the 'warpfield' generated by the Hasslein Drive.
    This can only mean that Hasslein knew that under certain possible-if-improbable situations, the ship just MIGHT find itself in a zone of spacetime 'bent' in a negative direction, requiring the clock to register a negative flow of time outside the ship. And the computer's ability to gauge this backwards-through-Time phenomenon must be finely tuned, because the "date meter" (as Hasslein calls it, when chatting with Zira, whom he's gotten tipsy on 'Grape Juice Plus') -- the EARTH-TIME chronometer -- ends up reading "Nineteen Seventy Three" after having previously read "Thirty-Nine . . . Fifty . . . something" -- the President later confirming that it had read "Thirty-Nine Fifty Five -- A.D., presumably." Since the Presidential Commission is dissolved on a date "in the year of our Lord Nineteen Seventy Three," then the clock managed to ACCURATELY calculate at least the YEAR the Apes had traveled back to -- and I got a feeling that if the clock had ended up on the wrong Month-and-Day, it would've been mentioned by the NASA experts who examined this ANSA ship on the President's behalf.

    That is just poor animal handling there. Putting Chimps next to a gorilla? What were they thinking? Have they not seen what apes do to other species of apes?

    The Gorilla costume and sound effects are so dumb haha....understand why ridiculously difficult to get a real Gorilla or imitate actually Gorilla noises in the 70's....but still...😂

    Too bad everything looks so fake. The story development of the first three movies was better than the recent films, though. Today’s movies rely on technology so much, now.

      The limitations of practical makeup and effects of the time could have had a hand in the enhancement of the creativity of the overall story

    Great scene. But the gorilla costume looks cheap and shoddy.

    Loved the Ape movies, but time travel is impossible, might as well believe crap is a sentient life form 🤪

      So you are saying you have undeniable proof that time travel is indeed impossible? Id love to read your paper on the subject, what qualified publications have you filed it under, so I can read it someday.

      Apparently, the movie turned into an episode of Three’s Company at the end of the clip.

      @@Shiirow I'll give you proof: time doesn't exist; we made it up like every other unit of measurement. Therefore, travelling back is impossible.
