She is so good that even Japan officially invited her from 1999 to 2013 as representative of South East Asia because not only she can pull off pop & ballad, but most importantly local traditionally songs while staying true to her roots. She has now been conferred with the title "Dato Seri" (equivalent to "Sir" in UK) by the Malaysian Sultan for he contribution for spreading Malay traditinol culture to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Brunei and the regions.

The reason why u feel she dont feel tension cos most vocal coach in Malaysia named her as natural. She is like those singers that so talented that she got minimal voice coaching. She is not trying too much but just letting go of wat her voice meant for her to sing it the way it is.
Also why u hear soft at certain part and dynamic the way it is, cos she embodies the lyric and she was telling stories along with it. If its pain, she will adjust to make pple feel the pain in her own way. If it’s love, she bring you on a journey of ups and down of love. Thats just how she is. A story teller singer

Love this! I think you're right, it's definitely the mark of a story teller to use different vocal techniques to bring out an emotion or reaction. While I completely understand this choice, as a first time listener it felt as though she lost some of her resonance which we heard so clearly later on! Now thats just my personal opinion! Each artist gets to make that choice for themself, and had it not been my first time listening, I imagine it would be different!

Dear sir/ma'am, Siti has very unique background of how she develop the sound.
Long story short,if u notice in her voice, she have dual tone, the bass and the high pitch, came out together at the same time.On top of that, she able to manipulate, amplified them with resonances.
This kind of sound normally produce by birds/whales.
For thousands of years, this kind of sound, as we know it, is the sound of the angels that were used to be closely living with our human world(as in Malaysia Indonesia at least, for that matter),
Fm the review, i found out that both of you have very pitch perfect ears and deep soul appreciation level.

    She's a great singer indeed!
With her efficient technique you just feel she can sing with the same consistency for hours! This is what technique does.
And using dynamics, she's also getting the emotional impact without needing to belt heavily. Of course, this is stylistic, and some styles such as R&B, gospel and so on require heavier belting to achieve the "sound", but Siti's voice is beautiful to listen to.

Lenggok requires vocal tenderness n agility, n Siti Nurhaliza's agility is simply unmatched by any other singer...
Her voice is naturally the softest, most tender female voice, yet so power packed, that she can comfortably sing high notes, like a few Mariah Carey songs, with a smile on her face...

She’s not some new singer though. She is a well respected singer of all time in Malaysia and a mother of 2. She’s in this industry since 1995. See her wikipedia with all her achievements, concerts etc. She is an idol for a lot of singers in Malaysia. I’m 29 Singaporean and I grew up listening to her songs. I honestly have been watching your reaction repetitively (all Siti Nurhaliza reaction), like so many many many many times already, I 100% feel the genuine connection listening her magical voice.
